About this deal

Each bag can hold 30 bin-fulls of dirt, so you’re looking at replacing a bag every couple of months or so, depending on how often you use your robot. The robot looks excellent - that’s for sure. Nevertheless, it would be better if there were also other colours. Once you have the rooms sorted, you can get the robot to clean just a specific room or your entire house. The same goes for scheduling, so you can clean different parts of your home at different times.

The robotic vacuum cleaner hardly reached its limits with the lentils ( short carpet: 94%, long carpet 98%). The " Plus" in the Roomba i7+ stands for the self-emptying dust bin ("Clean Base") that comes with it. Once your Roomba i7+ has uploaded detailed maps of your room layouts, it will assume a much more efficient cleaning pattern of pacing across each room in as straight of lines as possible. iRobot calls this ‘Imprint Smart Mapping,’ and claims that this new method will save both energy and time. However, that happens very rarely. The robot vacuum cleaner is gentle with the furnishings. It certainly won’t damage them. Our review of obstacle Overcoming and Precipice DetectionType A robot vacuum cleaner only, there are no mopping features here. Its Clean Base means you don’t have to manually empty the bin With 3300 mAh, a somewhat smaller lithium-ion battery and thus shorter battery life (approx. 75 minutes)

iRobot UK also includes 2 dust bags for the self-emptying dustbin in the delivery scope. You’re covered for a while now and won’t have to buy more. While the Clean Base doesn’t take up any more floor space than a regular charger, it’s significantly higher and won’t fit under furniture, so you need to place it somewhere out in the open. Our Tip: If you don't have any allergies, you can save some money and vacuum the dust bag in the self-emptying base with a conventional vacuum. PS: We reveal which robotic vacuum cleaner can climb best in our article " Robot vacuums for high doorsteps in comparison". As for how the Roomba i7+ performs, iRobot has vastly improved its leading vacuum’s smart navigation capabilities. Now, rather than just map a single room and forget it after the job is done, the Roomba i7+ uploads maps of every room in your home securely to iRobot’s cloud servers. The OZMO 950 is a very good robot vacuum. Especially the cleaning performance on carpets, the precise navigation, and the app were outstanding. Read more about the robot in this review.

Send the robot vacuum cleaner on its first cleaning job at the touch of a button in the app - it’ll do the rest. It doesn’t provide the deepest clean, then, but the iRobot Roomba i7+ is still a good robot cleaner. It will deal with standard mess around your home, particularly if used regularly, requiring you to use a manual vacuum cleaner less often. Developing the smart maps doesn't take much time, in the grand scheme of things, the better part of a week. From there, you can tell Roomba to clean specific rooms in your space after you've designated those spaces using the iRobot app. Our detailed review shows whether the iRobot Roomba i7+’s (i7558) premium features are worth their money. You can operate the following touch screen buttons at the robot vacuum’s top: " Clean" (2) (start/stop cleaning process), " Home" (3) (return to charging station) and " Spot Clean" (1) (clean one precise spot). The Roomba i7+ looks an awful lot like its predecessors at first glance, but contains so many more differences once you flip the machine upside-down. Before getting into that, one thing about the vacuum’s shell that’s markedly different here is that the LED now blinks and shines different colors depending on its current state. The dust bag in the clean base is large and takes quite a long time to fill up, depending on how dirty your home is. If you have pets, it’ll fill up much faster. But the Roomba i7 came out with flying colours and removed a whopping 94% of the sand on the laminate. This model includes a 0.4-litre bin, which is a fairly standard size as far as robot vacuum cleaners go, and it pulls out from the rear of the unit. Not that you’ll need to empty it manually – this model ships with the Clean Base charging station, which automatically empties your robot’s bin at the end of cleaning. The Roomba i7 Plus doesn’t have an automatic carpet detection function. Thus, it also doesn’t increase the suction power automatically when it drives on a carpet.

You also don't have to learn a sentence by heart and recite it the same way over and over again. The voice control is very sophisticated, and your Roomba i7 Plus understands variations of voice commands. I couldn’t find any power settings for the robot; it just cleaned at the default power setting. The only option to boost cleaning is to change the mode from Automatic to Dual-pass, letting the iRobot Roomba i7+ cover each part of your home in two sweeps. In Automatic mode, the robot will do two sweeps for smaller rooms and one sweep of a larger area. You can send the iRobot to clean a specific room, let it vacuum your bedroom first and then your living room. You can tell Roomba i7 Plus to clean your living room in the evening.

The robotic vacuum cleans our home almost every day. Dirt can hardly accumulate on carpets or in corners. However, your Roomba i7+ won’t come out of box knowing how every room in your home is laid out. It will have to learn them through its first few cleanings. During this process, the cleaning pattern of the Roomba i7+ will look much like that of the Roomba 980, as viewable through the companion app.
