In full disclosure, it’s been a really long time since I read the the first batch of Shatter Me books. Juliette announces to the entire sector that the Supreme Commander is dead and she is in charge now. She goes out onto the battlefield where everyone can see her. They have stopped fighting and they salute and cheer her. Her friends have all survived, including Aaron Warner who stands at her side. Later she asks Warner just to be her friend while she works out her feelings. He says he has never had a friend and is not sure he can. Warner arrives in record time. He shows obvious concern and affection for Juliette which the others find astonishing but at the same time reassuring. He offers for them to come stay in his private training area on the compound. Reluctantly they agree.

He asks why Warner has the big house with lots of food and hot water. Warner tells him he works for the the Re-establishment. James is terrified. Warner tells him he is also working with the rebels to defeat the Re-establishment, which is punishable by death. Then Warner gets shaky. A) I loved this book! Though I do agree about the ending being rather rushed. Still, though. AWESOME. Warner arrives and takes Juliette to the army base. He asks the others to come along as well. Everyone but Adam and James go along.
Do you often read dystopian novels? Are there times it's harder to read dystopian stories and times you seek them out? Do they change the way you look at the real world? Tahereh Mafi is a best-selling YA Fantasy author best known for the Shatter Me series. However, she’s also written other books like This Woven Kingdom and A Very Large Expanse of Sea. The latter was named one of the best YA books of all time by Time Magazine. Spoilery video: Not FULL spoilers bc it’s the end of a series and it JUST came out so I don’t want anything leaked while people are just getting their books! From my phone before bed because I AM LAAAZY so sorry for the bad quality. The fifth and final novella in the Shatter Me series is a sequel to the explosive conclusion of the final novel. Life in the aftermath of The Reestablishment’s destruction is not easy. Juliette and Warner are working with their friends at the Sanctuary to stabilize the world with limited resources. Now, if I’m being honest, there were a few things (mostly small-ish things besides the one I’m going to talk about) that weren’t perfect for me but it was one of those reading situations where it didn’t really matter for me. The heart of the story, my feelings, and just my love for the series/characters made my brain gloss over them. I have no regrets.

So many changes in the three main characters left my head spinning–thank goodness for good ole Kenji who remains True North despite it all in this series:) He really does deserve his own spin off series! He says his mother gave it to him on his sixth birthday. They were hiding from his father. She told him to hide his heart so it couldn’t be taken from him. Omega Point has been destroyed. In the wake of its destruction Juliette doesn’t know if any of her friends, the rebels, are still alive. The only person she can rely on is the one person she thought she would never trust: Warner.
