This novel truly teaches the value of compassion and inner beauty. Veronique is a special heroine and I really enjoyed her story. Theodora "Theo" Morgan is a highly sought-after retail designer. She built her mega prosperous financial empire selling her unique clothing and accessories online. Sadly, her husband and 13-year-old son were kidnapped for ransom last year, resulting in tragedy. The case remains unsolved, and Theo lives with the constant threat of danger. She requires 24/7 protection to maintain her safety. The publisher’s synopsis had me thinking this book would be a bit, I don’t know, fluffy or something. The life of a supermodel and all the glitz that goes along with that just made me expect that. But weddings are not always all champagne and roses, and in no time, Faith is grappling with private quarrels, unplanned pregnancies, family scandals, dark secrets, and the possibility of cancelled ceremonies. Through her own journey, Faith will prove once and for all that there is not just one path to happily ever after. What did I like about this book specifically? The book has a deeper meaning (if you allow yourself to really think about it) than the actual story that is being played out by the characters in the book.And, if you happen to love a beautiful wedding as much as I do, I just reviewed The Wedding Planner. Putting that aside, the protagonists shouldn't have met but forces outside of their control brought them together. To label their introduction as a meet-cute, would dismiss the danger Theo faced. Posing as a lawyer, buying his sister a luxury purse, Mike crashed the pop-up party to observe the situation. Everything is explained at least 4 times. In case you didn't know Gloria is 39. And yes, the sister Gloria who is 39, is also 39. Oh and then entered Gloria, the sister, aged 39. That's pretty much the first half of the book. There were 6 siblings after all, lots of ground to cover.
