About this deal

Three volumes of a spin-off of the regular series under the title Toradora Spin-off! ( とらドラ・スピンオフ! ?) were also created. The first volume of the spin-off series was released on May 10, 2007 and compiled four chapters, three of which had been serialized in MediaWorks' now-defunct light novel magazine Dengeki hp between June 10, 2006 and February 10, 2007, and the last chapter was written especially for the volume release. A single chapter of the spin-off series, originally published in February 2006 in Dengeki hp was included in the second volume of the regular novel series. More chapters started serialization in Dengeki hp's successor Dengeki Bunko Magazine on December 10, 2007. Additional chapters of the main series started serialization in the same magazine on April 10, 2008. The second volume of Toradora Spin-off! was released on January 10, 2009 followed by the third volume on April 10, 2010. The third volume was released to commemorate the year of the tiger (2010). StorySometimes, honesty is the best policy.Toradora! takes what seems to be a typical anime conceit--two mismatched friends trying to help each other win love in high school--and plays it straight. The final product combines ensemble comedy, drama, and romance with pretty visuals, creating a touching and believable shounen romance.

A manga adaptation illustrated by Zekkyō started serialization in the September 2007 issue of MediaWorks' shōnen manga magazine Dengeki Comic Gao!. [15] The manga ended its run in Dengeki Comic Gao! in the March 2008 issue, but continued serialization in ASCII Media Works' manga magazine Dengeki Daioh from the May 2008 issue. [4] [16] The first tankōbon volume was released on February 27, 2008 under ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Comics imprint; as of January 26, 2023, eleven volumes have been released. [17] North American publisher Seven Seas Entertainment began publishing the series in English on March 1, 2011. [18] [19] Internet radio show [ edit ] Toradora! tells the story of Ryuuji and Taiga's friendship. The domestic, level-headed Ryuuji has fallen for the vivacious and optimistic Kushieda Minori, childhood friend to Aisaka Taiga. The tsundere Taiga, meanwhile, crushes on Ryuuji's upbeat buddy, Yuusaku. When Taiga and Ryuuji discover their coinciding interests, they form a friendship around gaining the affections of each other's friend. In the beginning, the series uses this alliance between Ryuuji and Taiga to establish a lively dynamic between five friends--Taiga, Ryuuji, Yuusaku, Minori, and Ami--that achieves a perfect equilibrium of comedy, animosity, and friendship. Just as in real life, however, the accumulation of events small and large changes the characters, and comedy gives way to drama.Japanese Animation DVD Ranking, January 20–26". Anime News Network. The story is really about a Takasu Ryuuji, and his new next-door neighbor, Aisaka Taiga or the "palm-top-tiger" as she is called at school, and the deal they make-- Taiga will keep quiet about Ryuuji's crush on her best friend, Minori, as long as he becomes her servant, or, as she calls him, her dog. This story line isn't exactly original, but what makes Toradora! so absolutely wonderful is the absolutely original characters. So, in a whole, whether you've seen the anime are now starting the manga, or have just considered reading the manga without even having knowledge of the anime, all the aspects contribute to the glorious story of Toradora! Now, if you HAVEN'T seen the anime of Toradora!, you're tossing around the question, "Should I read Toradora!?" Since the manga was based off the anime, you might be worried that you're gonna miss something by not watching the anime first. I'll tell you this: the manga is a great place to start. You're hardly missing anything by not watching the anime, in my opinion, though, I do have to say, some moments in the manga are just so ridiculously funny because I remember the same scene and the tone of voice the characters used in the anime.

In the anime, unfortunately for the shippers, Taiga and Ryuuji did not marry because we saw that they gave up on that idea after realizing they could not do it without their friends and family. Also, the anime shows only a one-time skip, a year later, which shows the events of the graduation day. Award-winning Toradora! Light Novels to be Animated". Anime News Network. April 2, 2008 . Retrieved April 2, 2008. Taiga's height is listed differently depending on the media and translation: In the light novel volume 2 profiles, she self-declares her height as 145cm (4ft 9in) but her actual is 143.6cm (4ft 8.5in). LN 2 In the TV Tokyo anime profile, she is listed as 143.6cm (4ft 8.5in) [60] In the NIS America anime profile she is listed as 4 feet 7 inches. [61] Toradora! is a romantic comedy that follows this odd duo as they embark on a quest to help each other with their respective crushes, forming an unlikely alliance in the process. They are both hot headed who are feared by all their school, which gives them almost no social life, and are only liked by their friends, who are very near nothing.

NIS America Licenses Toradora as Its First Anime". Anime News Network. February 11, 2010 . Retrieved February 11, 2010.Ryuuji Takasu is a gentle high school student with a love for housework; but in contrast to his kind nature, he has an intimidating face that often gets him labeled as a delinquent. On the other hand is Taiga Aisaka, a small, doll-like student, who is anything but a cute and fragile girl. Equipped with a wooden katana and feisty personality, Taiga is known throughout the school as the "Palmtop Tiger." The biggest mark against the show is that it’s totally drowned in melodrama. Taiga overreacts in ways the get old fast, and the forced pathos ruins the genuinely emotional moments in the show. I need to emphasize this, there were truly some great emotional moments. The Christmas episode with the bear costume (you’ll know it when you see it) almost caused me to shed a tear, a feat that only Grave of the Fireflies is capable of, but because of the melodrama surrounding most of the show, these scenes lose their effect. Of course, there’s also the incredibly contrived situations (See accidentally overheard conversations/confessions) that bring these scenes about, which doesn’t help.
