About this deal

She’s tried self-tanning creams and real tanning by exposing herself to harsh summer sun and all that happens is she turns orange or burns bright red, so she’s had to accept her skin. And she’s tried forcing herself to show her teeth for photographs, but she always feels like she looks ridiculous. ‘You’re beautiful. Don’t worry about what other people say,’ Richard tells her – or he used to tell her. WOWWWW!!! I was not expecting all those twists and turns nor expecting to feel all those feels!!… She is DEFINITELY one of my new favourite authors!… Grabbed me from the start… Just when I thought it was going one way, BAM, it went another way all together!’ Goodreads reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Oh my GOSH!!!!!! I read this emotionally charged, compelling book in one sitting. Whoa, my emotions are ALL over the place!!!’ NetGalley reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Andrea’s despair is well suited to the weather. It would be wrong for the sun to shine now, when all she wants to do is cry. I love how Trope explored a number of issues, dealing with them sensitively, which I won't list here as it could be deemed a spoiler. But as with all her books she takes topics that are relative to many and weaves her story around them while doing so with sensitivity. I really did like the story and the character development was done well. The problem was with pacing. It was slow. Even though the story was intriguing when the twist came which was great I wasn’t blown away which is unfortunate because it’s a great twist. Then your phone will ring with a voice message. “Listen to it on the speakerphone,” the detective says. Had me on the edge of my seat!… The twists? Wow!… Left my head spinning… Posting this at midnight when I should be sleeping. Take a nap before you start reading so that you can stay awake to finish this. Trust me, not even kidding.’ Goodreads reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for gifting me a digital ARC of the latest psychological thriller by Nicole Trope - 4 stars! I’ll go through the garage and see if I can find some spare ones. The old owners must have left some – they always do,’ Terry promised her, but she has little hope of that actually happening. Best thriller I’ve heard in 2021. Utterly absorbing and gripping. A truly brilliantly written book.

Andrea pushes away the thought that Gemma is a mistake. She had wanted to wait before falling pregnant again. This is the fifth book I have read by this author. I have previously read 'The Girl Who Never Came Home', 'The Stepchild', 'The Mother's Fault' or 'The Family Across The Street' which I also recommend anyone read.

The wind whips around the house, scattering soggy brown leaves as the car idles in front of her house, the engine growling with menace in the dark. Andrea’s pulse pounds in her throat, making it hard to swallow. Andrea is rightly bitter about her losses, but ready for a fresh start. How can you be sure Terry won’t play again? Because of this, Andrea has trust issues, but by befriending a neighbor named Gabby, she breaks down some of those walls. Gabby is older than Andrea, has a teenage son who lives at home and a husband who travels most of the time. Gabby seems to have everything under control. Her house is immaculate, her sandwiches are delicious, she’s good with children…

You have a three-year-old child and you’re nearly nine months pregnant,’ Brianna replied. ‘And you’ve just moved. You have more than enough problems of your own.’ This book couldn't have been any better. I loved everything about it. The storyline, the characters the craziness, chapter length and how it all just flowed to make you not want to put it down. Well I never saw the twist until I went HUH! I identified with all the well rounded characters so brilliantly narrated! I wanted to hurry to the end, but also didn’t want to come to the end of the book,Across the road, Gabby watched the new arrivals moving in and pondered what renovations they would soon be undertaking as the house was in dire need of renovating. I mean, why else did they pay such an exorbitant amount for the property if they didn't have plans for it? But that isn't her concern. What captured her attention was the little boy and the tired look on the heavily pregnant mother's face. What she needed was a friend. And Gabby decided that she would be that friend. After all, she needs one too. Dealing with all she had to deal with on a daily basis with her son Flynn that left her in tears, a friend is something she longed for to confide in. Of course, she has her Facebook mother's advice forum she runs but they aren't "real" friends, are they? In a normal family, in a normal house, on a normal street, everything is about to go horribly wrong.... His chest tightens, his heart races. Chaos reigns in the kitchen. Step on something hard and look down. Toy dinosaurs are scattered throughout. But her son is nowhere, her baby is gone. Omg! Omg… My son came in and asked me who I was yelling at?! (I was yelling at my e-reader)… LOL, my heart is still beating crazy!… OK, I have to go now. I need a big glass of wine to calm down!’Ana's Attic Guest Reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

WOWWWW!!! I was not expecting all those twists and turns nor expecting to feel all those feels!!… She is DEFINITELY one of my new favourite authors!… Grabbed me from the start… Just when I thought it was going one way, BAM, it went another way all together! Huge elements of surprise in this book.’ Goodreads reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nicole Trope went to university to study Law but realised the error of her ways when she did very badly on her first law essay because-as her professor pointed out- ‘It’s not meant to be a story.’ She studied teaching instead and used her holidays to work on her writing career and complete a Masters’ degree in Children’s Literature. After the birth of her first child she stayed home full time to write and raise children, renovate houses and build a business with her husband. The woman, Gemma, and Andrea become friends, and Andrea's son loves visits to Gemma's home, where there are toys and treats for his enjoyment. Gemma has a teenage son who is rarely home and a husband who travels within the USA. We follow the points of view of the two women and get a creepy feeling that things will not go well and their new friendship will soon explode. Both women are concealing secrets from one another.Oh my goodness!!!… I audibly gasped at the twists, I totally didn’t see it coming… I couldn’t wait to see how it was all wrapped up, but I also didn’t want it to end, it was that good.’ @mountainmommawv2020, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ And then Andrea begins to notice the red sedan with the mismatched door driving slowly past the house and she gets a strange feeling. Not again. Who is this person and why are they watching her? She tries to tell Terry but he dismisses it as just a tradie in the neighbourhood needing directions or her imagination. But is it her imagination or has Terry's problem reared its ugly head yet again? Gabby notices the red car parked out the front of their houses too. But she isn't sure if they are watching Andrea's house or hers. What if they are after her? Could they be?
