About this deal

Every now and then, I need a break from the dark and twisty mysteries I favor. This book sounded like it would fit the bill as a bit of humor. On his 100th birthday, Allan decides he’s had it with the nursing home where he lives. So he literally crawls out the window. It doesn’t take long for him to get into quite an adventure. Yes. That is the wit this author brings to the table. Can't make much of it. I doubt many people can make much of it. It's nonsense, it's empty blabber, his dialogue is composed mostly of useless, senseless jokes that are supposed to evidentiate his character's philosophy of life.

The authorities decide the best thing is to send Allan to the Malmköping retirement home. He would be quite happy to die now, and decides he will, overnight. Allan is most put out at waking the next morning. On his 100th birthday, he escapes through the window.stars. David Chase is a 60 year old widower. He spends his days reading and walking the dogs. But most 60 year olds don't have multiple drivers licenses, their savings in banks across the country and 2 Beretta Nanos in his spare bedroom cupboard. Andreeva, Nellie; Petski, Denise (September 12, 2019). " 'The Old Man': John Lithgow To Co-Star, 'Spider-Man's Jon Watts To Direct FX Drama Pilot". Deadline Hollywood . Retrieved May 29, 2020.

The "Old Man" of the title lives quietly in rural Connecticuit under one of fictitious identities, just an old guy with his two dogs. Then one day he sees, he feels, someone's watching him. That night they come for him, and the chase is on. As we said, The Old Man is based on the Thomas Perry novel of the same name, which was published in 2017. Here is the official synopsis for the TV version of The Old Man:If you've already enjoyed the book, I'd like to recommend the movie DVD/Blu Ray, which I watched today. Thomas Perry, the author of "The Old Man" has an impressive list of novels to his credit. If they are all as good as his latest, I will Not want for reading material. Who are some of your favorite writers? Can you include one or two NON-thriller/mystery writers among them? The Hundred-Year-Old Man who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared is a Swedish comic novel by Jonas Jonasson. It was published in 2009, and took Sweden by storm, becoming the best selling book in that country the next year, and published in English (well, American English to be precise, as you can tell because the “of” is missed out of the title—or should I say “missed out the title”)—in 2012.
