I mean... I enjoyed this one more than the first one, probably knowing beforehand that it wasn’t going to be heavy on the mafia and darkness made me like it more. I loved Nessa, and I didn’t like her much to begin with because I hadn’t connected with her in the first book, but she was sweet and strong at the same time, I loved her and how well she connected with tormented Miko, whom I also loved in a weird, I know you’re damaged, way.

This mafia world is dark but it’s not as dark as some mafia books I’ve read . There’s lots of power and control themes , some violence and threats of violence and some suspense moments Our mother left. I heard she married an accountant and moved to Krakow. I haven’t heard from her since. Callum and Aida's story Brutal Prince was an explosive ride and the glimpses of Nessa made me super excited to read her book!

This book is a beauty and the beast retelling and I absolutely loved it. The description of the house was well written and I felt like I was there. Oh and I really like klara and marcel (not sure abt the names tho) they were adorable lol I wish we got more of them together In fact, I could see this being one of those series that I return to, re-read, and end up up-rating.

They think they can have whatever they want—expensive watches, gold chains, phones that cost more than I make in a month. Apparently, they decided that they wanted my sister. I wanted to like this a lot more than I actually did. It wasn't a bad book and I think if I hadn't read so many other mafia books I would have maybe enjoyed it a lot more but there just felt like there was something missing with their relationship and only towards the end are we told about their connection but I never really saw it when she was living with him. They have a few scenes but it was more physical than emotional. Aside from all of that, the book was boring. The first one was more entertaining and believable than this one.Ohhh Mikolaj…my secret book boyfriend. He’s dark and moody and he lives in a haunted mansion. I had some real gothic Beauty and the Beast vibes writing this one. Nessa is my little ballerina Belle — smart and creative and kind. The only person who could melt Miko’s frozen heart. For the revenge of the death of their leader they kidnap nessa who is the youngest and most innocent of the irish/Italian alliance but her goodness has a different effect on miko . And he rediscovers love again . If I start talking about Nessa then I won't be able to shut up about how flat she was as a character so I'm going to stop myself right here.

Nessa is young and innocent and somewhat naive. And she is intrigued by her captor . So intrigued she falls in love with her beast. Can love truly conquer all? Will they be able to save Nessa’s family and have the love they want and deserve? She thinks her life is set out for her and that her place in her family will always be a bargaining chip for some prized match. She knows her place, she knows what’s expected of her - to uphold the family business and reputation. Nessa is sweet and innocent. She doesn’t deserve any of this. But that’s how our world works - the wolves eat the lambs, no matter how gentle they may be. Anna and I will have a proper house with a garden, and nobody above or below us, banging and shouting at all hours of the night. Also, I'm not Polish, but some of the sentences used in the book seemed a bit off, hopefully a Polish speaker can confirm. Love is the one thing you can’t steal. You can’t create it, either. It either exists or it doesn’t. And if it exists, you can’t take it by force” When I'm talking to someone in English, I don't randomly switch to Serbian or Russian unless if the person I'm speaking to also speaks those and I forgot a word in English but remembered it in one of those. For the first time since losing his twin sister, Mikolaj has allowed love into his heart... but at what cost? Love has changed him. It has altered his focus. Instead of blood, he wants an alliance but that’s not the Braterstwo way. His brother-in-arms Jonas is furious but also sees his opportunity to take the helm.

If we forget all those points, she was a pretty fun character to follow around. Her fear and all was pretty realistic in the beginning and her crying like that I would be crying too He’s the ringleader. I’ve seen how the others defer to him. I’ve seen how he stares at Anna most of all. Terrified by the growing tension with her kidnapper, Nessa loses herself in a dark fairytale ballet that parallels their increasingly twisted relationship. Bent on revenge, Mikolaj abducts Nessa, holding her captive in his mouldering gothic mansion. As he plots the destruction of everything she holds dear, he finds himself fixated on his little ballerina’s newest dance. This did have a more slower development tho. Not too fast like the first book, but still kinda fast if it makes sense. It wasn’t really dark for a “captive/captor romance” but it had some fun action scenes. They had that attraction, but I wouldn’t call what they have a true romance. They rarely interacted and when they do she completely surrendered which lessened my enjoyment. While Aida and Callum from book 1 were more explosive and loud in the nature of their relationship, there was something about the quiet strength Nessa and Mikolaj both possessed that I truly admired. An atmospheric, slow burn mafia romance with definite Beauty and the Beast vibes in Stolen Heir as head of the Polish Braterstvo, Mikolaj kidnaps Nessa Griffin as the first stage of his revenge against her family and the Gallos for the murder of his father in Brutal Prince, the previous book in the series.
