It’s surprising to see that there’s also a Movie preset for a gaming amplifier. This mode isn’t ideally excellent for gaming, as it will make everything very confusing. But upon testing it with immersive movies, it sounded great. The EPOS|SENNHEISER GSX 1000 is an excellent amplifier with game-changing features. We previously reviewed the EPOS|SENNHEISER GSX 1200 PRO, but that comes at a higher price. If you’re on a tight budget, the GSX 1000 is plenty enough. The Amp has a single 3.5mm for combined headphone+mic capability (designed for things like a V-moda Boompro). Talking about DAC, I have already mentioned it has a dedicated built-in DAC, which is fantastic for gaming. The DAC is 24-bit/96 kHz capable enough for giving the best audio quality. Also, no worries about buying extra DAC.

For gaming, we jumped into CS:GO’s deathmatch servers. When we compare the on-board audio and the amplifier, the amplifier gave the headset a significant bump in audio levels. Switching to eSports preset widened the sound stage, but we’d like to try the 7.1 virtual surround sound as well. It's been so frustrating getting help from the audiophile community and I just have to vent. Up until now, all I've been using is gaming headphones When looking for headphones I got dozen of questions about things I knew nothing about, and unless I answered them I wouldn't get any response. As we can see from these specifications, the GSX 1000 has a very wide frequency range – so getting enough detail shouldn’t be a problem. Sennheiser recommends using headphones between 16-150 ohms, but I’d feel confident going with an even higher impedance – the amplification is pretty intense even with a 100 ohm headphone. Distortion is remarkably low on this amp, too – something I found refreshingly surprising. The range is 0-48,000 Hz, which goes with a sound card to give a big blast in the audio performance. My GSX 1000 makes strange sounds inside if you rotate it in your hand in different directions. Some small part inside moves from side to side. Several times the device fell from the table earlier (i am about a 1 year use gsx 1000), but i did not notice until now. I did not find a single video with an opened gsx 1000 or 1200 so I have no idea what is inside ...
