About this deal

Armed with actual knowledge of how foxes think and behave, I was able to formulate a successful strategy which led to me converting my garden from being completely overrun into a foxy Fort Knox. Scoot comes in 50g sachets of powder that should be mixed with water. 9 litres of water added to 50g of Scoot will cover an area of up to 16sqm (172sq ft). Ultrasonic fox deterrents are very convenient as they are easy to set up and then only need you to keep an eye on the battery level. However, they do have a limited field of operation and can take up to two weeks before you see any change. You often have to adjust the settings and try different frequencies too find one that works too. Wherever you decide to set it up, the sensor will then detect any animals coming within an 80 degree arc in front of it, with a maximum range of around 23ft, although using it this way will drain the batteries more so than on a less sensitive setting.

Each deterrent in this list is the best of its type. No two are exactly the same and they all work in slightly different ways from one another, targeting different senses (sight, hearing, smell, touch etc…) and different types of problems. Hopefully there’s something here that you feel you can make use of. Deterring foxes successfully is not an exact science, nor is it something that happens overnight – they are wild animals after all and won’t suddenly change their behaviour just because you’ve had enough of them. It’s a completely reasonable thing to say. Of course you don’t want to accidentally harm your cat in your attempts to keep foxes away. Installing them is really straightforward. Just place them a little below ground level so that the spikes are facing up and then cover the strip in a thin layer of soil.I am so deeply grateful for your help. My poor cat is terrified to go out, but an angry neighbour has threatened to have the ‘orange hell beast’ shot! I would hate to see the cheeky b*stard murdered since it’s only doing what’s in its nature“ This unit is so effective at reducing the pooing, digging and damage caused by foxes because it forces them to change their behaviour and associate your garden with the irritating noise, which ultimately keeps them away. Again, these spikes are not designed to cause harm, but they are firm enough to create an uncomfortable sensation in a fox’s paws. A citronella-based spray to discourage foxes from fouling and digging in specific areas of the garden. The less water you use, the higher the concentration and effectiveness of the scent, but the trade-off is that a more concentrated solution won’t cover such a large area. Also worth bearing in mind is that 9 litres of water is much heavier to lift than 2.5 litres.

However, a useful product that works in a similar way and is available in the US is bottled Wolf Urine [aff] This particular model is fitted with infrared (IR) sensors that not only detect motion from the animals, but also their body heat signature, and this triggers the machine to activate the ultrasound frequency and deter the fox. So, we want to protect our gardens from foxes, but how can we ensure that our cats aren’t inconvenienced at the same time? There are a number of options available, from ultrasound deterrents to simple spike matts, and with each possible fox deterrent or repellant there are pros and cons, not to mention a selection of different brands and products to wade through to find those hidden gems.Anything of a nature that for hygiene or associated health and safety - this includes the Outdoor Spas, Mattresses and Divan Sets

The Volador fox deterrent not only relies on ultra-high frequency noise to scare away pests, it also has a setting where a bright flashing light is triggered by the sensors instead and this could work better with some animals. The best rated fox deterrent and fox repellents should actually work, be humane, safe for the family, and safe for pets. We rated the best rated fox deterrent and repellents on these criteria. Many scented deterrents contain citronella, which most animals (including foxes and cats) are physically repelled by, hence reader Abigail’s concern that all fox repellents also seem to affect cats.Feeling a little annoyed, but undeterred ourselves, we set about spraying all over again, but this time we made sure to keep applying the Scoot fox repellent every evening. This time it worked wonders, and after two weeks of my friend spraying, he stopped and hasn’t had any problems since. If the entrance looks, sounds and smells safe, the fox will decide, ‘ Yes, all seems fine. I’m going in.‘ This is probably how the fox views your garden at the moment and likely has done for a long time. The FoxWatch is a very simple little device that lets out high-pitched blasts of ultrasonic noise each time a fox crosses the motion sensor. No, unfortunately Scoot Fox Repellent is a British-made product and is not currently available in the USA.

How To Return A Product On the other hand, a wild fox is completely reliant upon itself. It doesn’t have the luxury of a waiting bowl of food or a nice comfortable sofa to retreat to. One wrong move and the fox could potentially lose its life. If you’re unsure, add around 5 litres of water and see if this is enough to cover the areas in need of protection. For smaller gardens, or for increased concentration, you can reduce the amount of water added down to a minimum of 2.5 litres.
