About this deal

Based on our evaluation, the 4100's 4.0 GHz single-core max boost frequency is excellent for performance with the latest graphics-intense games. You can maintain these frequencies with a high-end cooler. However, the Ryzen 5 4500's few advantages in threaded workloads come with severe tradeoffs in gaming and single-threaded applications. As we often see, mixed-use types of applications are common. Our Adobe tests are a good example — the 12100's superior mix of overwhelmingly faster single-threaded performance and more than sufficient threaded heft often takes the lead in those types of workloads. Boost frequencies are only achieved under ideal circumstances. However, with adequate cooling, you may be able to maintain speeds near the max boost frequency. Your Stormforce Gaming PC will be hand assembled and tested to the highest standards, our strict quality control procedures and testing methodology ensure long lasting, reliable performance.

The Ryzen 5 4500 is also limited to PCIe 3.0 connectivity, a disadvantage compared to Intel's support for PCIe 5.0 — particularly for the productivity-minded, who might appreciate the faster throughput of a PCIe 4.0 SSD. The Core i3-12100 also supports DDR4 or DDR5 memory, while the Ryzen 5 4500 is limited to DDR4. That doesn't factor in much because DDR5's premium pricing isn't a good fit for this class of chips. Increased core counts can improve the performance of games that use them, but most modern games don't benefit from having more than 6–8 cores. We've experienced the best performance by prioritizing a higher single-core boost frequency, then on a higher multi-core boost frequency, rather than focusing on core count alone. Remember that cache sizes often increase along with core counts, so if you want to increase your L3 cache, you may need to get a CPU with more cores. Description of the processorAs one of the last processors, the AMD Ryzen 3 4100 was presented by AMD in the 2nd quarter of 2022. It is based on the older Zen 2 architecture, which, for example, has a smaller Level 3 cache than the Zen 3 processors. The AMD Ryzen 3 4100 has 4 CPU cores of the same size which, thanks to the support of AMDs SMT (Simultaneous Multi-Threading) technology, can process 8 threads (two per CPU core) at the same time. Games performance can improve as cache size increases, as it will reduce delays when retrieving commonly used game assets from memory. Faster PC memory can improve game and professional tool performance by reducing the time it takes to perform calculations and data operations.Comparing Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 4100 processor market type (desktop or notebook), architecture, sales start time and price. Various benchmark results of the processors in comparison. Overall score is measured in points in 0-100 range, higher is better. There are also going to be three new SKUs that will be based on the Zen 3 'Cezanne' die. These APUs will be cost-optimized and since they are using the APU dies, they will feature less cache. The said SKUs include the Ryzen 7 5700, Ryzen 5 5500, and Ryzen 3 5100. AND.. on a final note, I really am looking forward to the update to the CPU hierarchy to see exactly where these two slot in, relative to other low-end Ryzen chips, performance-wise. Seems pretty pointless to even talk about them tbh, lowest AMD CPU of this generation anyone should even consider buying is the 5600. 😂If by a while you mean a few months... This article evaluates AMD's Ryzen 3 4100 desktop CPU. We evaluated AMD's Ryzen 3 4100 and compared it to others to determine which provides the best value as a gaming CPU. We shaped our testing methodology to focus on each CPU's attributes rather than solely on benchmarks. We understand that the technology industry is constantly evolving, and we strive to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments. However, we recognize that there may be occasions when errors or inaccuracies slip through, despite our best efforts. Every Stormforce Gaming system must have tidy internal cabling and meet strict thermal and performance metrics before being shipped to our customers. The AMD Ryzen 3 4100 has a 3.8 GHz base frequency and supports a 4.0 GHz single-core max boost frequency. Aside from the disabled iGPU, these chips have the same Renoir design as the OEM-only Ryzen 7 4750G (hit the link for the full architectural details), including support for PCIe 3.0 instead of PCIe 4.0. As a result, this chip will make a great pairing for older, lower-end AM4 motherboards (you definitely don't want to pay for functionality you don't need by pairing it with a PCIe 4.0-supporting motherboard). We found that, in general, more cores do provide better performance in professional tools and when running multiple applications simultaneously.
