Oh yeah. I have liked this Regency series, part I have real troubles with certain aspects as they’re not entirely historically accurate. Thus I feel I am unable to give the series a higher rating. Cute story with some realistic moments about the strict hierarchy of the class system in England at that time where money could only buy a small amount of respectability. Listed as a Grade II English Heritage, the Punchbowl is another historic pub in the heart of Mayfair, serving customers fine local ales and whiskey since 1729. Housed in a Georgian building, although refurbished numerous times, the Punchbowl has kept a few of its period features, like the dog-leg staircase and the dado panelling. Street food might not be the first thing you think of when you think of Mayfair but Mercato Mayfair is setting out to change that. From celebrities in the Punchbowl and the finest steak in the UK in the Guinea Grill, to the chilled atmosphere at the Coach and Horses, and the award winning pies in The Windmill, there are enough pubs in Mayfair for all tastes and wishes.

Spread across three floors, the Footman Mayfair offers warm and welcoming dining rooms with impressive traditional decor with modern elements, such as chandeliers made from antlers. Besides being one of the oldest pubs in Mayfair, The Footman is also one of the best Mayfair pubs for food. The Handel House Museum at No.25 Brook Street opened in 2001. George Frideric Handel was the first resident from 1723 until his death in 1759. Most of his major works, including Messiah, and Music for the Royal Fireworks were composed here. The museum held an exhibition of Jimi Hendrix, who lived in an upper-floor flat in neighbouring No.23 Brook Street in 1968–69. [77] [78] Located inside the main entrance to Sotheby’s, this is one of the New Bond Street cafes that you can’t miss. Where to Stay in WaterlooWhile this sale underlined the dynasty’s desire to create a “Little Doha” in Mayfair, the area’s tradition as a centre for finance is also making it increasingly popular with young hedge fund and private equity executives who want to live near work. Dishes draw from a broader Middle Eastern cuisine but have distinctive Armenian tones: A kebab comes wood smoked and served with cherry sauce, a roasted aubergine turns Armenian cheese salad. Hummus and kibbeh are both present on the menu. Where to Stay in Waterloo Despite the princely sum paid by Sultan Al-Nuami, research from the agent Knight Frank shows that this is not – “by some distance” – the highest amount paid by students and young renters in Mayfair.

Established in 1720, The King’s Head is one of the oldest pubs in Mayfair. This traditional pub was once owned by the Duke of Albermarle, so you are not only getting excellent food but you are also getting class, history and a lot of character. Established in 1819, Burlington Arcade has long been the go-to shopping spot for those on the hunt for luxury items, from hats, jewellery, gloves and watches.
