Hi Shane - what Ian says is true. its more of a very very subtle texture than a "weave' pattern - its just adds some life to a flat single colour surface. It gives full camouflage etc and lots of photos from which you can distinguish the two ships from each other and also the various alterations. The text also gives good coverage of the ship's career and specifications. If it isn't on this list, I haven't looked at it, except for the maritime shades 72 and 73 where nothing matches out of the tin.

Usage: A water-based, fast dry paint developed for use on plastic model kits but which can also be used on other surfaces. you need to see the book by Alan Raven and John Roberts- Man O' War 3 Battleships Rodney and Nelson. Perhaps. But IMO if it's visible at all in 1/72, or without a magnifier in 1/48, it will look daft.Humbrol provides a Colour System Binder which contains instructions of how to interblend the paints of the Super Enamel range to obtain the discontinued shades as well as selected authentic colours.

My Bristol fighter painted with Misterkits paints PC-10, Battleship Grey and Clear Doped Linen all in the RFC/RAF range. http://airfixtributeforum.myfastforum.o ... 0&start=40 I've had sample sheets of these - and the differences between British CDL, German linens and French are noticeable. Its beautifully subtle stuff too. Ed, that's a great comparison chart. Is it just me or do the Testor Model Master series appear to be the best matches here? fred wrote:Humbrol 116 Dark green for PC10 on all upper surfaces, perhaps Humbrol 74, or 103 for under surfaces. Under fuselage was usually same green as top and sides. Thats for RAF/ USAS in France. Later USAS machines tended to have 'chrome yellow' wings. If you look at Tamiya’s Rodney and Nelson they look quite different, and with lots of details not in the Airfix kit. http://aeroscale.kitmaker.net/modules.php? op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=2898 RLM 02 - Humbrol 31, although 31 is a bit too light and could probably use a touch of yellow or maybe something like 94 Brown Yellow . This may be because they are closest to the actual samples - not sure. I'd be happy (and actually are happy) with the MM range. I did buy the "equivalent" Vallejo Modelair range, and boy was I bitterly disappointed with the results. Paint goes on very well and is easy to use, however are no match to any of the proper RLM shades whatsoever.

Tamiya are probably one the most commonly available lines of hobby paints in the US as they are usually carried by R/C hobby shops, and we all know Tamiya is a dominant force in the R/C business.H74 Matt Linen is much too yellow/creamy and H71 Satin Oak is about right. However, I don't like using Satin colours much and prefer to use H103 Matt Cream as you can see on this HMS Hood: The column Type indicates if it is available as acrylic (a) as well. All colours are matt unless noted in the colour name. Urban's Colour Reference Charts, Humbrol vs Tamiya, Xtracolor, Polly S, Revell, Gunze Sangyo, Model Master Aviattic have just released (or are just about to) decals of clear doped linen! Light and dark German, British, French, plus PC10 and 12 with the weave pattern of the fabric evident! Probably because I don't do a lot of Luftwaffe, I find the correct colours harder to fathom than Sabre wings and quantum mechanics.
