About this deal

Funnily enough, it was snowing this morning in France too! Did our conversation bring the winter weather over here?! Happy to have helped. I hope that you enjoy it. Feel free to reach out to us again if you have any more questions. You make a good point. 25°C is fine for Eros as is 20°C. Bear in mind that Eros is great throughout the year whereas Ultra Male is more an autumn and winter fragrance. That being said, Ultra Male might fare better for a longer period of the year in Sweden. Given your age too, it might also be a better fit. In fact, the cedar in itself is but small aspect of the fragrance’s rich base. The resulting scent is a tableau of gourmand and aromatic notes as well as powdery resins and wood. The overall experience is diverse, varied and yet well-woven together. Eros’ Life-Cycle, Wake & Strength Thanks for your comment, it’s great to hear that we were so helpful in your search for fragrances! And I wouldn’t be concerned about Terre d’Hermès. Its effectiveness during winter has been the source of debate between Paul and I for years. I personally think that it’s better for late fall and early winter whereas he uses it throughout the season. For context, I live in France whereas he’s based in Philly.

Versace Eros | Aftershave - Boots

What sets Eros apart from other fragrances is its sheer versatility. It can essentially be worn anywhere, anytime. If you’re looking for something else, when would you consider wearing it? For work/school? In the evening or daytime? In summer or winter? Let me know and I’ll have a think. For instance, aromatics work particular well in the spring whilst the more gourmand and oriental notes are perfect for both autumn and winter. Nevertheless, it can still work reasonably well during summer thanks to lighter citrus and mint notes as well as the mildly aquatic ambroxide. What makes Eros a somewhat exceptional fragrance is that it performs valiantly throughout the year. Despite just a minor dip during summer due to some heavier oriental notes, it features a character that is compatible in all seasons. Thank you Charles – that looks like a great recommendation actually. If there are any others that you would recommend with the same characteristics (casual, all year, for mid-30s, and good longevity) please let me know; otherwise I thank you and look forward to following your work. What sets Alien Man apart is its versatile seasonality. It’s not a good summer fragrance but if I understand correctly, that’s not what you’re looking for. Meanwhile, it works really well during spring, autumn, and winter! From everything you’ve told me so far, this might be an excellent choice to fit your needs.

Eros Eau De Parfum 100ml - Boots Versace Eros Eau De Parfum 100ml - Boots

With regards to these, we would recommend it as a versatile casual fragrance that can even be worn for romantic encounters. Whilst it’s not strictly a date fragrance, it would likely work well given that the pleasant gourmand note are so well received. For those seeking something that can be worn almost anywhere anytime on a budget, Versace Eros is an ideal choice. It’s the perfect everyman with a decidedly rich tableau of various notes and accords. The resulting fragrance features and unique character that can blend into a variety of environments. Ambroxan, or ambroxide, is quite similar to ambergris in that it offers a powdery muskiness to the overall aroma. Yet unlike deeper musks such as ladbanumn it’s somewhat lighter and vaguely oceanic. Paired with the tonka bean, it creates a sweet and mouthwatering accord. Base Notes Yes, I recall that you live in Sweden. Eros would work, it’s sweet and fresh with excellent performance. Another option is Azzaro Wanted, which is woody but has a sweet bubblegum component. Given that winter is around the corner, I’d be personally more inclined to go with a warm, gourmand, and balsamic spicy fragrance. Azzaro Wanted isn’t bad in that respect but Carolina Herrera CH Men Privé is better. You’re the boss in what you wear, though. Both the tonka bean and ambroxan persist as we journey into the base. Sweet and sensual vanilla is accompanied by warm vetiver whilst being contrasted against fresh cedar and oak moss. Versace officially claim that there are notes of both Atlas and Virginia cedar in the base. However, this is somewhat contrived and hard to distinguish with all the other various notes. In terms of value for money, Versace Eros is outstanding. Being an exceedingly versatile and high quality fragrance, it is available at a very attractive price. Just giving you some alternative ideas! But JPG Ultra Male is still an excellent choice! As for Dylan Blue, it’s good and it was a favourite of Paul (our founder) when he was your age. However, I’m not sure how well it’s aged.
