About this deal

In 1925, the company joined the Distillers Company, which was acquired by the Irish Guinness in 1986, and subsequently merged with Diageo in 1997. Johnnie Walker is a scotch whisky brand from Scotland, and it has been in the booze venture since 1865. The whisky’s base grain whisky consists of corn, wheat and malts for additional flavouring. It has been matured in heavily charred oak casks for 12 years or more to create an unmistakable smokiness combined with fruity and citrus notes.

Awesome. Long and rewarding balanced between fruity sweetness, smoke, citrus peel, vanilla and warming pepper spice. The two spirits have a fair share of differences, and we will give you comprehensive details on the two starting from history, production process, flavor profiles to the price point. Key Differences

The two scotch whiskies from Scotland have their own identity, noticeable in appearance, smell, and taste. When taken neat, this is a legitimately delicious scotch whisky. You definitely won’t be mistaking this for an Islay scotch anytime soon, but it has some of those characteristics coming along for the ride combined with a fruity and rich flavor profile. I could happily sip this all day long — especially combined with a good cigar. The Johnnie Walker whiskies range from a price of Ksh 1900 for the red label and even Ksh 145,000 for the Johnnie Walker Odyssey. Richness, complexity and luxury. There are notes of smoke, sherry rich Christmas pudding, red berry fruits and nuts. Hints of vanilla with touches of malt.

Johnnie Walker Double Black Whisky | Master of Malt

It has a brilliant finish that builds slowly. The finish ends in notes of pepper, malt and citrus. Without water, the finish is better. Some citrus bitterness is released in the finish when you add water. With over 157 years of experience and tradition, Johnnie Walker has established a great reputation in the liquor world for producing high-quality blended whisky. Editor’s Note: This whisky was provided to us as a free sample to review by the party behind it. The Whiskey Wash, while appreciative of this, did keep full independent editorial control over this article. The brand became somewhat popular and following Walker’s death in 1857 his sons took up the family business. With the passage of a new law in 1860 that allowed for a wider variety of blended whisky to be produced, his sons solidified the company as a producer of blended whiskys by being among the first to innovate with the larger varieties now available. They also introduced the first square bottle in 1860, which allowed more bottles to fit on store shelves, as well as the distinctive tilted label that visually differentiated the brand and remains a feature to this day. Nose/aroma: This full-bodied blend conveys a subtle smokiness and robust spiciness. Hints of barley, cereal, toffee, and herbs all come together harmoniously. The flavour of the dram is characterised by blending multiple whiskies from Scotland’s West Coast and Islands. Notorious for their use of peat in the drying process provide their whiskies with an unmistakable smokey flavour.
