We have our own distributor, Chopin Imports, that brings all of our products into the United States and that lets us control all aspects of our brand. We also have, from day one, worked closely with all of our suppliers and farmers and have built strong relationships with them that ensure that we are receiving the highest quality products. My family is also closely involved with all aspects of the company. Three members of my family work directly with me. My daughter Alexandra is our brand manager and my nephews are involved too. Piotr is our export director, and Wojtek is a regional sales manager. Together we chart the path forward for Chopin. We are a family brand and will stay that way as long as I am around.

Chopin Vodka is a family-owned company based in Eastern Poland which has been developing premium vodka for more than 30 years. Founded by Tad Dorda, it is one of a handful of vodka producers in the world overseeing 100% of its production process. In a recent martini with olives, Chopin impressed me with its incredibly smooth drinkability and minimal burn on swallowing. However, it had little flavor to enhance the martini, and left a lingering mildly spicy and bitter aftertaste after swallowing. Overall, in a martini, it was too bland for my taste, though it would probably be a very nice shooter due to its amazing smoothness. I suppose that it reminds me of a smoother version of Ketel One. At this point, I would give it 4 stars, and place it seventh just behind Svedka and before Ketel One in terms of its ranking as a martini vodka. Extract the concentrate juice from the cucumber and mix all the ingredients with Koch El Mezcal ensemble.I would put this in the same ranks as Ketel One or Luksusowa; not a “Wonderful small batch Vodka with absolutely zero burn” category. The egg white, Mezcal Burrito Fiestero®, Señor Maguey®, yellow chartreuse and lemon juice are poured into the shaker and shaken vigorously without ice to give it a more homogenic texture. Mezcal Burrito Fiestero®, Señor Maguey®, grapefruit and lime juice, jalapeño slices, and the dash of Angostura are added into a shaker with ice.

I mixed Chopin with orange juice. At a moderate mixture, I imagine most would have a hard time detecting any flavor in a Chopin screw driver. I detected a very, very slight bitter flavor. When I mixed it a little stronger, the bitters came out even more. Unless you’re trying to get smashed, I doubt you’ll be mixing it strong enough to matter. Ultimately, Chopin is a great mixer.
