JJ: One of the best things about the story is that you, Richard Chizmar, are the main character. What made you decide to go meta?Did it just come naturally? The murderer left hopscotch grids in front of the houses where the victims were living. He left missing dog sign, pennies, pumpkins as he took lives of Kacey Robinson, Madeline Wilcox, Cassidy Burch. He never left any DNA residue. He was smart.
