About this deal

From the blurb I was expecting a typical thriller where the main character is frantically trying to find a missing person and several other characters hope he stays missing. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the premise of 29 Seconds is much more intricate and involves a range of complex and sensitive themes which were boldly developed.

Overall, this is another one of those one-sitting, compulsive, addictive reads, so be prepared. Original from start to finish and timely, T.M. Logan has delivered another bold thriller! The moment of the 46-year-old's death - and the moments leading up to it - have been pieced together using video taken by bystanders, from CCTV and from the officers' own body cams.

Due to a random incident, Sarah is given a chance to make a difference in her life, to get out from under this tyrant but it goes against everything that is right. Still, she considers whether she would allow something very bad to happen if there was no chance for that thing to ever be connected to her and if that thing would allow her to have a safe, unmolested life. Sarah is trapped and feels like she has nowhere to turn but can she accept what is being offered to her, with just a few simple restrictions? second phone call that could change your life. No consequences, no questions asked, no-one will ever know I really enjoy thrillers that keep you guessing, that you can't put down and this book did not disappoint! I finished it within three evenings of reading! I just wanted to know what happened and wasn't going to stop reading until I found out... * Mojo Mums * Seconds, T.M. Logan’s second novel, was published by Bonnier Zaffre in 2018. The best-selling and award-winning author’s books have enjoyed enormous success, with his novels selling over two million copies globally. Two of his novels have already been adapted as dramas, The Holiday and The Catch.

When Hawthorne's advances become threatening, Sarah is left with nowhere to turn. Until the night she witnesses an attempted kidnapping of a young child on her drive home, and impulsively jumps in to intervene. The child’s father turns out to be a successful businessman with dangerous connections—and her act of bravery has put this powerful man in her debt. He gives Sarah a burner phone and an unbelievable offer. A once-in-a-lifetime deal that can make all her problems disappear. Professor Alan is an outstanding scholar and a gifted researcher, one of the best but he’s harassing Sarah. They work in the same university but Sarah’s contract isn’t permanent yet and the only obstacle to her contract is Alan. So because of Alan’s influence, she can’t make a complaint. But she did something and her reward is she can provide a name and that person will be disappeared! But can she do that? Or she thinks about something else!? But it’s her reward so it’s her right to choose a name, right?!Oh my gosh, this book frustrated me so much when it came to what Sarah had to face on a daily basis. I am glad our protagonist tried to maintain some morals because I don't think I would have had a problem dialling that phone number. But I just couldn't put the book down and I felt my heart racing the entire time. A good dose of a suspense and a storyline that had me hooked! I predict that this book is certainly going to be one of FALL 2019's most anticipated books. I went in to this one a little dubious about its premise, and yes, it's wild and crazy and implausible, but it's also one of those fun, addictive reads that you get caught up in and can't put down for hours. It was a whirlwind read, and I totally loved it. The book's story is very timely--Sarah's boss, Dr. Hawthorne is a terrible, despicable character: a poster child for the #metoo movement. Her success and livelihood are tied into sleeping with him. He sexually harasses her, threatens her, and basically does everything awful thing he could do. Your blood will boil when you read this story, and it was honestly stressful at times. Yet the man is untouchable thanks to protective male colleagues and the money he brings in.

This is one crazy thriller. It will blow your mind. I am utterly in awe. It lived up to all the hype for me. This has everything that I love in a thriller. I loved everything about this book. It definitely will be one of my favorites for this year. I was immediately drawn into this story. I could not put this down. Sarah is a mother of two, estranged from her husband, and a non-permanent professor. She has a misogynist, sexually abusive, department head that preys on women in the workplace. Sarah is feeling hopeless, until someone gives her the chance to change everything. This person can make all of her problems disappear—no evidence; no consequences. Should she do it? After all, it's not only going to help Sarah, but future women in her position. Then there’s Sarah herself. She suffers all kinds of indignities at the hands of her boss, whinges to her friends but just keeps on taking it. She is a bright and intelligent woman with a burgeoning career and two young children whom she adores, but her dithering began to get on my nerves and I itched to give her a good talking to. I couldn't begin to imagine being in Sarah's position but I am fully aware of many situations out there involving bosses and the upper echelon that use their power to gain advantage over vulnerable people. Sexual predators are evil and I fully sympathised with Sarah, understanding her constant frustration and fear of losing her job.I’d suggest going along with the premise, despite the suspension of belief required. It’s a solid thriller if one doesn’t take it too seriously. Telling the story from the unique double perspective of the harasser and his victim, One Name is a character-driven drama that explores the collateral damage and fallout of one woman’s decision in the face of abuse.

I received a free ARC of 29 SECONDS by T.M. Logan from Macmillan in an exchange for an honest review. Mr Floyd, who was a father of four, is now laying on the street face down. This is when two more witnesses begin filming and the picture becomes clearer. All four officers are gathered around Mr Floyd. Three - Chauvin, Mr Kueng and Mr Lane - are either kneeling or applying pressure on Mr Floyd. This is the second book that I’ve read by T M Logan, and he really is exceptionally good. Give this one a try, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed! Seconds focuses somewhat on the #metoo movement. In some ways, it is very timely and relevant. The twist of being able to get rid of the perpetrator adds an interesting layer, but at the same time detracts from the significance of the events. Written by TM Logan — Paying it forward is all the rage these days, whether it’s giving an unexpected gift to a neighbour, coughing up for a stranger’s cup of coffee or simply offering your seat to someone on the bus. Sounds like a nice, simple thing to do – unless, that is, the concept is explored by the twisted mind of a crime writer…Alan Hawthorne, a university professor who rakes in millions of dollars through his television show, has gotten away with exhibiting inappropriate behavior toward his female colleagues for years.
