About this deal

The incredibly useful Motion Sequence function records your knob movements to create time-varying change in the sound; great for live performance dynamics. Korg may on occasions supply software programs, data files and/or documentation belonging to a third party or parties (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Third Party Software”).

You agrees that the express obligations and warranties made by Korg in this Agreement are (so far as is permitted by law) in lieu of and to the exclusion of any other warranty, condition, term, undertaking or representation of any kind, express or implied, statutory or otherwise, relating to anything supplied or services provided under or in connection with this Agreement including (without limitation) any warranty as to the condition, quality, performance, merchantability or fitness for purpose of the Licensed Program and the Services or any part of them. If Third Party Software has been supplied (whether in conjunction with any Korg instrument or equipment, or as a stand-alone product) a notice to that effect will be contained with or on the disk supplied and in such circumstances Korg shall be deemed to be acting as the agent only of the supplier of such Third Party Software. A Volca sample features an easy swing and can load more samples. Its powerful workflow and ease of sampling make the Volca sample better than drum machines in some situations. However, the device offers numerous cool features like chromatic sound sequencing. If you need more comparisons, consider watching the video below. Korg provides no warranty in relation to any Third Party Software supplied and all warranties whether express or implied as to the condition, quality, performance, merchantability or fitness for purpose of the Third Party Software or any part of the same are (in so far as may be permitted by law) hereby excluded. With 16 onboard patterns, each storing sound parameters and motion recordings, the sequencer is as instantly appealing as any Volca. The extra performance features turn this model into a credible stand-alone instrument, but even as a MIDI module, it could earn its keep. Support services such as technical support or upgrade support for this product are provided according to the support service policies of Korg’s distributors applicable in each country. Structure: VCF (no input MS-20 Rev1 filter as resonator), Pulse Generator, VCA, analogue DRIVE, analogue TONE Being the oldest released version, this device proved inferior to the newer categories regarding performance and features. You hereby agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the aforementioned territory, without regards to conflicts of law provisions.

This warranty shall however only apply to the latest version of the Licensed Program (provided that Korg has reasonably made such version available to you) and shall not apply to any previous version or versions of the Licensed Program. Korg shall not be obliged to provide support services for any Third Party Software supplied (whether relating to operating methods, defects, or otherwise).

Controls: Pattern Chain, Motion Sequence, Touch FX, Active Step, Accent (On/Off, Depth), Slide, Bend Reverse, Roll (1/4, 1/2, 1/1, 4/3, 2/1, 3/1), Octave (1 Oct Up, 2 Oct Up), Sustain, Swing

Korg warrants that the Licensed Program when properly used will provide the facilities and functions as described in the accompanying documentation but does not warrant that the operation of the Licensed Program will be uninterrupted or error-free.The Volca Samples allow users to program and edit the beats, using up to one hundred sounds. This feature is very ideal for live performers, who can program and sequence in a short time. What Is The Difference Between Volca Beats And Drums?

In the event that there is any physical defect in the disk (storage device, etc.) on which the Licensed Program is supplied, Korg will exchange the defective disk with a non-defective disk of the same model at no charge, provided that you have notified Korg of the existence of such defect within 28 days from the date you have received the disk, and provided that Korg shall never be held liable to replace the disk or data in the event that the defect is attributed to accident, abuse, misuse or other such causes outside of Korg’s control. With the new Touch FX function, you can further bolster your performance potential. Instantly trigger sequence effects with a simple touch of the step key, adding all sorts of dynamism to your real-time performance. Portable, Powerful and Simple to Use The core of the Volca Drum’s character, however, comes from its ‘Wave Guide’ resonator. This is set up as a global send effect, allow each layer to be sent to it by an independently controllable amount. The Wave Guide itself has three controls: Tune, for the pitch of the effect, Decay, controlling its length, and Body, which alters the timbral characteristics. There are two varieties of resonator available too, switchable between Tube and String styles. The results that can be achieved using this resonator sound fantastic, ranging from odd faux-reverb effects to pitched tonal stabs and spiralling, modulated decays. The Volca Drum produces the most original and authentic sound quality with the digital drum machine sound engine. Combining the effects and multi-layered resonators, gives you a satisfying user experience. Sequence effects include the roll function that plays a sound repeatedly, the octave function that raises the pitch by one or two octaves, and the sustain function that immediately maximizes the amp decay. These are great ways to create punchy and powerful breaks. All references to the Licensed Program shall mean the object code only of the program(s) comprising the Licensed Program. If supplied in conjunction with any Korg instrument or equipment, such Third Party Software shall only relate to the non-essential functions of such instrument or equipment. As well activating rolls, octave shifts and sustain, you can switch into Touch FX mode and use them interactively. Touch FX takes all the printed functions — roll, octave shift, sustain and the motion sequence controls — and applies them in a non-destructive way for as long as you touch a key or keys. With practice, you can apply a roll, shift pitch by an octave and disable slides and accents all at once, assuming your fingers stretch to all the desired keys. Using Touch FX was one of the occasions when I felt the smooth ribbon keyboard wasn’t quite so performance-friendly as a series of buttons would have been, but it’s still fun. The Touch FX don’t appear to be quantised, though, and with my usual clumsiness I managed to set off rolls that didn’t always sound right, especially if I hit a triplet by mistake. I noticed that when notes are being received from the MIDI input, activating Touch FX disables their reception, so it appears to be a function tied to the internal sequencer. Regardless of this minor limitation, Touch FX offers fresh ways to mute notes, fast-repeat them, mask the effect of accent and so on. MIDI & Sync
