The PROTIMETER Surveymaster is the industry standard moisture meter for surveying and investigating moisture in buildings, and is widely used by chartered surveyors and other property inspection professionals.

It is ideal for locating and measuring moisture problems in homes and building materials such as timber/wood, gib board etc. This allows you to assess moisture levels for new or refurbishing activities and diagnose moisture-related problems in existing buildings. With condensation you would expect higher levels of moisture on the surface which can be determined with the pin-probes and lower moisture as you go deeper in the wall shown via the non-invasive sub-surface mode. The search mode is used to assess the moisture level beneath the surface of solid walls and floors independently of surface conditions. Non-invasive pinless radio frequency finds moisture at depth where moisture is not always directly visible – up to 3/4 in (25.4 mm) below the surface.

For deeper readings, the Surveymaster comes standard with a pair of deep wall probes, which can be plugged into the side of the unit. Both the LCD display and coloured LEDs provide accurate readings for both modes of measuring. The LCD display will provide a digital reading of the moisture content to one decimal place whilst the LEDs provide a guide to the severity of the moisture reading. Non-invasive pinless radio frequency finds moisture at depth where moisture is not always directly visible—up to 3/4 in (25.4 mm) below the surface. When using the two pin measurement mode, all you need to do in most applications is lightly touch the pins to the material you're testing (there's no need to fully insert them into the material), minimising the level of damage. The meter detects the actual percent moisture content of wood (in % MC) and converts these results to a wood moisture equivalent (WME) when measuring concrete, dry wall and other building materials.

The Protimeter Surveymaster features a digital LCD display supported by the Protimeters revolutionary colour display which is a collection of 60 LEDs divided into color-coded zones signify moisture readings of the material under investigation. This flexible approach to moisture measurement caters for practically any application. This mode measures sub surface moisture between 1-3cm beneath the surface so is also well suited to users who wish to test beneath finished surface such as tiles you to search for sub surface moisture problems behind finished surfaces such as tiles where the use of pin probes is not possible. Condensation Indication The Protimeter Surveymaster features two modes of operation, search and measure. When utilised together, the dual measuring modes help the user to distinguish the sub-surface moisture from the surface moisture, essential when trying to establish the extent and cause of a dampness problem.
