About this deal

Join us on our journey to simplify and revolutionize the way you cook. Discover the joy of kitchen innovation with Piranha Products. Whether you're a culinary enthusiast or a professional chef, we invite you to explore our range of ingenious kitchen gadgets and experience the difference they can make in your daily life. There are two main types of peeler that we focused on during testing: swivel and Y-peeler. A Y-peeler is shaped like, in essence, a Y in the handle, with the blade running across the top of the Y. A swivel peeler features a blade in a parallel line with the handle. We prefer a Y-peeler in general, as does Rubba, for better handling. Our journey began with a vision to revolutionize the way people approach cooking. We understand the daily challenges faced in the kitchen and are committed to providing ingenious tools that not only solve these problems but also inspire culinary creativity. Since our inception, Piranha Products has been at the forefront of innovation, bringing cutting-edge kitchen gadgets to households across the globe.

This classic, Swiss-design peeler offers a serrated swivel peeler that is adept at catching onto tough-to-penetrate skins (fuzzy, hard, or smooth), like tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and peaches. The serrated blade is also great for trimming tougher foods, like fresh asparagus and squash.Because it's serrated, it leaves behind very fine ridges on the item that you’re peeling, which provides extra grip on your food to prevent slipping. The imprint is so small, though, that you may not even notice. We love that it’s easy to clean and dishwasher safe, with a hanging hole in the handle for straightforward storage on a hook. While it's not the cheapest peeler on the market, most reviewers felt that it was worth paying a few pounds extra for the quality of the OXO Good Grips range. For peace of mind, it also comes with an OXO Better Guarantee so you can have it repaired or replaced by the brand without question. Pros Comfort: Think about how easy the peeler is to hold. Does it have a non-slip or easy grip handle that stays firm even with wet hands? To create long, ribbon-like shapes with a vegetable peeler, you’ll want to peel the vegetable lengthwise for long, strand-like cuts. You can do this with zucchini, asparagus, and carrots. If you find yourself making zoodles more often, it may make sense to add a dedicated spiralizer to your collection of kitchen tools. The micro-blade technology saves time when peeling cucumbers, onions, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, parsnips, swedes, turnips, butternut squash, pineapples and so much more. It can also slice vegetables into ribbons and even shred cabbage or lettuce. Probably the best peeler you will ever own! The most important part of the peeler is the blade. If the blade is strong and sharp, you’re going to have a tough time getting through certain vegetables, and you also want a blade that stays sharp. With a super sharp stainless steel blade, this handy tool can peel even the hardest food skins with ease and includes a built in eyer for removing any unwanted blemishes or imperfections. With a chunky, non-slip handle, this high-quality peeler is comfortable and easy to hold, ensuring safe peeling even with wet hands. I now have 4 products that I find essential and very safe in my kitchen. When I buy a new one I always buy two ....one for my daughter as well. Lovely quality sturdy tools. [ ...]

Kuhn Rikon scored another winner with this simple design that comes in a well-priced set of three. This sharp, affordable peeler consistently excelled at peeling during our testing. It’s extremely sharp and easy to maneuver, and it slid smoothly over all the food items we tested. Manual peelers are available in a straight handle design or a Y-peeler. For the straight handles, the blade is parallel to the handle, so you’ll hold the blade on its side and work in a sideways fashion, sort of like you’re brushing hair. For a Y-peeler, the blade is perpendicular to the handle, so you’ll work in a more vertical motion like you’re painting a wall top to bottom. The difference in stroke can largely be left up to personal preference. The super sharp teeth and micro blade technology means that you get a perfect result every time. Designed to stay super sharp. Fit your Piranha slicing board on to your Piranha peeler and you now have a mini mandolin which is ideal for slicing your fruits and vegetables into even slices. What are you using it for?: Are you just peeling potatoes or do you intend to use the peeler for other fruit and vegetable skins? Some peelers work better on soft skins, whilst others are more robust and suitable for harder, toughened fruit and vegetables. Eyer: Do you want an integrated eyer for removing small blemishes and imperfections? While it's not an essential, it is a nice feature to have. Shape: Do you want to use a traditional straight peeler or a Y-shaped peeler? Some like a Y-shape for easier peeling, whereas others opt for a straight blade for precision. It’s really down to personal preference. We will usually ask for a signature on delivery and will definitely require a signature if the delivery includes age restricted items, such as knives. The best vegetable peelers are just as safe as any other edged kitchen tool, but you’ll still want to be careful while using it since it does have a blade. “With any tool, it is important to be present and aware when using it,” Rubba says. “A brand new peeler can definitely cause some damage if you are not paying attention. Take your time, and for more cumbersome fruits and veggies, take off the skin in several layers or attempts.”
