About this deal

Something I don't particularly find useful on Mooer's in/outs is that they don't align on the chasis. In my particular experience this hasn't proven to be a useful thing to save space on the pedalboard, but again, it's a matter of taste. Sometimes (more often than not?) life sends people and things on unexpected trajectories. The intriguingly named effect Uni-Vibe has a story to tell in this regard. The Original: Shin-EI/Univox Uni-Vibe

JHS Emperor V2 Chorus / Vibrato Pedal with Tap Tempo provides warm and vibrant modulation in a relatively compact stompbox. The pedal is the predecessor of its earlier version, which was known for its shimmering chorus and warbling vibrato effects. You get Volume, Tone, Speed, Depth, and Waveform control knobs along with a 3-way waveform switch for different kinds of effects. Despite its small size, the Soul Shiver offers users a range of dynamic options to explore. With four simple controls - volume, mode switch, intense, and speed - the pedal provides easy and intuitive operation. Its volume adjusts the output level, while the mode allows you to choose between the three modulation effects. What's more, the intense dial adjusts the overall tone and depth of the effect, while speed shapes the modulation's rate. This simple yet versatile design makes it easy for guitarists of all levels to achieve their desired sound. Conveniently compactChase Bliss Audio Warped Vinyl is a highly tweakable and versatile all-analog chorus and vibrato pedal that offers clean and polished effects. The pedal replicates the sound of warped vinyl records, which gives amazing vintage chorus and vibrato effects. There is plenty of control under your hand to shape your sound, including dual waveform switches, tone, lag, mix, RPM, depth, and warp knobs. The more recent Electro-Harmonix Lester G (also stereo) features a specially designed compression circuit to supercharge the rotating speaker effect on guitar. Controls include fully adjustable tube-style overdrive, Fast and Slow modes and an Acceleration control to dial in the rate at which the effect transitions between speeds. If you are a pedal fan like myself, you will know by now what there are 4 universal full-range pedal makers - i.e. have a pedal for every occasion, we are of course talking of Boss, Electro-Harmonix, MXR and TC Electronic. And while the latter two have a number of mini pedals out, those are very far from being representative of all the pedals available in regular or medium-sized enclosures. In fact the only company that really has a mini pedal for every purpose is Mooer with its Micro Series. We need to stress that this guide doesn’t take into account pedals that aim at recreating a more faithful Leslie effect – see this other article about the best Rotary pedals for that category. As mentioned in the intro, the original Uni-Vibe was inspired by Leslie speakers, but the approximation of its emulation transformed it into something entirely new. We, therefore, consider modern rotary emulation as a separate category not covered here. Again we have a lot of the usual suspects here and not atypical numbers for Brands or Countries either. Obviously there are not that many salient candidates in the Dimension category - which means we're a couple here off having a full house. There will likely be some healthy debate about some of my choices and omissions - while I feel that most of the obvious ones are present and correct.

However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers. The stereo Strymon Lex is simpler than it looks, with four tone shaping knobs: Fast Rotor Speed, Preamp Drive, Mic Distance, Horn Level. Four “hidden” knobs allow extensive tone tweaking: Slow Rotor Speed, Cab Direction, Acceleration Time, +/- 6dB Boost/Cut. Selectable Cab Filter and dedicated speed ramp footswitch are useful extras. My first proper modulation box was the Strymon Mobius, to which I first added my sole stand-alone modulation effect then - analog harmonic tremolo - courtesy of the Chase Bliss Audio Gravitas. I so much liked the Gravitas that I acquired all 4 Chase Bliss Audio Analog Modulation pedals - with the addition of Spectre Flanger, Warped Vinyl Chorus/Vibrato and Wombtone Phaser. Leslie set out to create a “moving” speaker that would rotate on its axis and throw the sound as it spun. His original design used a spinning treble horn, but he later improved on it by employing a crossover circuit to split the high frequencies, which went to the horn, from the low frequencies, which were fed to a large speaker that faced downward into a rotating drum-shaped baffle. Though his early cabinet had one speed—Tremolo (fast)—he later created a slower speed, called Chorale, so that the sound was always in motion. A personal take on the Uni-Vibe that delivers a modulation sound somewhere between a Uni-Vibe and a Leslie rotating speaker, with controls for Velocity, Amplitude, and Gain. It’s often used as a boost with the Amplitude setting down to zero. The Soul Shiver features three distinct modulation effects, each designed to suit a variety of playing styles. You can easily choose between chorus, vibrato, or rotary effects using the mode switch. In chorus mode, the pedal produces warm and creamy effects that are perfect for achieving psychedelic, wavy sounds. Its vibrato, on the other hand, delivers classic '60s-style fluctuating tones that range from subtle to dramatic. The rotary effect simulates the sonics of high-quality speaker cabinets, all in a compact unit.
