About this deal

The siting committee were originally expected to provide their final recommendations about the siting of the Jason Lee House and Parsonage in June 1963. However, they requested a 3-month extension, until September 1963. J. Gover, A. Mawer & F. M. Stenton (eds.), Place Names of Nottinghamshire (Cambridge, 1940), p.87; A. D. Mills, Dictionary of English Place-Names (Oxford, 2002), p.244; E. Ekwall, Concise Oxford Dictionary of English Place-names (Oxford, 1960), p.328

That summer, the Committee considered a report, “Mill Place on the Willamette” about the two structures, completed by Elizabeth Walton, who was then a graduate student at the University of Delaware. Her report provided not only a comprehensive history of the significance of these two structures, but also an estimate of the costs for restoration and the benefits of their use as part of a historical interpretive complex to educate the public about our heritage. The clubhouse is equipped with facilities such as function rooms, grand ballroom, shopping outlets and sports amenities namely a resort-style larger-than-Olympic-sized swimming pool, 2 play pools, 4 indoor badminton courts & a VIP badminton hall, 2 indoor & 4 outdoor tennis courts, 3 squash courts, aerobics / dancing studio, indoor golf & entertainment centre with 7 simulator bays, 3 private suites & VR games, 56-bay driving range, well-equipped gymnasium, Japanese bath, jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath and many more. Herbert H Skinner was the vicar from 1927 to 1933, and early in his term of office, the county council threatened to take over the Misson Church of England School because it did not meet the education authority's standards. This move seemed to be favoured by many in the village, but Skinner insisted that he was in the process of improving standards. In 1930 he was given a three-month ultimatum by many parents, who said they would withdraw their children from the school if things did not improve, but the threatened strike was called off at the last minute. [8] Drainage [ edit ] Ayer Keroh Country Club designed by a team led by Tun Dr. Abdul Ghafar bin Baba, the then Chief Minister of Malacca and a golfing aficionado. The designers of the course very wisely maintained a large part of the virgin jungle so as to limit as much as possible the negative ecological impact the golf course would have on the area. Today, golfers share the course with a varied species of birds, monkeys, squirrels, snakes and monitor lizards that live in the jungle lining the fairways of the course. Despite this delay in determining the final location for the house, the Marion County Historical Society was still responsible for complying with the owner’s requirements to move the Jason Lee House off the Broadway property before March 1, 1963. The Capitol Journal published several photos of the Jason Lee House being prepared to be moved to a temporary location at 660 Front Street N.E. on Feb. 20 and Feb. 28, 1963.

By 1820, two stone reservoirs and a stone mill building were built into the slope of a small hill above Alamo Pintado Creek, about half a mile from the church. Water was supplied by an earthen ditch or zanja that diverted water from Zanja de Cota Creek more than three miles away. The mill was of an ancient design, using a horizontal wheel powered by a water jet to turn a mill stone attached to its axle. Happy travels! million years ago, Mills lived on the planet Somaris somewhere in the Milky Way. He was a deep space pilot who would routinely fly to and from the various planets colonized by his species, also being trained in combat and survival. He eventually married a woman named Alya, who bore him a daughter named Nevine. Mills and Nevine built a very close bond, despite Mills having to constantly leave for trips to space, although they were usually for short periods of time. Then, Nevine developed a terminal illness, and Mills didn't have the funds to pay for her treatment. At Alya's urging, Mills decided to accept a role as the pilot of an expedition that would give him enough money to pay for Nevine's treatment, but the mission would go through deeper, uncharted regions of space, and thus would separate Mills from his family for two years. Mills told Nevine about the mission when he and Alya went to a beach with her, where Mills also tried to teach Nevine a way to whistle.
