About this deal

Another reason to get the Logitech keyboard + mouse combo is the multi-device flow support. As such, if you also happen to have a Windows PC, then you can switch between your Mac and the PC seamlessly.

Another thing to note is that with previous models of the Mac mini you could connect up an external graphics card (eGPU), to add extra graphical firepower, and this was a popular choice with video editors and 3D animators; however, you can't use eGPUs with the Mac mini (M1, 2020). As for the MX Anywhere 3 wireless mouse, it’s a good all-purpose mouse that helps improve your productivity. You get 5 buttons that can be customized via Logitech’s software. It also has Logitech’s signature MagSpeed scroll wheel found on the flagship MX Master series. The M2 Pro’s key advantage over the M2 is that it has double the memory bandwidth, at 200MB/sec vs 100MB/sec. It also can be configured with more cores: up to 12 versus a mere eight (consisting of up to eight high performance cores and four efficiency cores), and this combined advantage shows quite clearly in the benchmark results. Today, Apple is carbon neutral for global corporate operations, and by 2030, plans to be 100 percent carbon neutral across the entire manufacturing supply chain and all product life cycles. This means that every Apple device sold, from component manufacturing, assembly, transport, customer use, charging, all the way to recycling and material recovery, will have net-zero climate impact.

In our real world tests, the Mac mini did very well, and our benchmark tests also showed just how good this little PC is. In the multi-core Cinebench R23 test, the M1 chip scored an excellent 7,755 points. This put it above the powerful 12-core Intel Xeon X5650, and offers a seriously impressive level of performance.

If you care more about how fast you can crunch video or launch Adobe apps, I've got good news for you: the Mac mini with an M2 Pro is plenty fast enough at both. We timed how fast it took for our review unit to transcode a 4K video down to 1080p using Handbrake, and it managed the task in a speedy 4 minutes and 26 seconds. That's nearly twice as fast as the 2020 Mac mini with M1 (8:11) and just a bit faster than the 2021 MacBook Pro with M1 Pro (4:51). While performance was on the whole very good, there are reasons why you may want to go for the Intel Mac mini over the M1 version. Unlike with the MacBooks, Apple is still selling its Intel-based mini, and in some ways it could offer better performance than the M1 model.Previously, we mentioned creating a portable rig with a monitor using a VESA mount. However, if you want something more compact, then this case for the Mac Mini M2 should be on your radar. The unique aspect of this case is that it has an iPad holder. So, you can slot your iPad into it and connect your Mac Mini to the device and use the contraption as a mini laptop setup – how cool is that!

That’s not the only thing that’s exciting about the latest Mac mini, however. This year’s model also marks the first time Apple has allowed users to configure the mini PC with the firm’s Pro chip, meaning it’s even more suitable for advanced creative tasks such as high-resolution video editing and 3D rendering. The Competition] Don't fall for low quality, fake "hard shell" carry cases! The competition will call their carry cases "hard" or "durable" when really their products are only just molded, soft fabric zipper bags that are prone to tearing. Remember, if it has a zipper, it's not rugged! When we put our review unit to the test using the Geekbench 5.4 multi-core CPU benchmark, it earned a score of 15,038. That's good, and better than what the M1 Pro chip earned (12,477) when we put the 2021 MacBook Pro through its paces. In fact, it's almost as good as the 17,229 earned by the 12th Gen Core i9 Intel CPU in a recent Acer Predator Orion 7000 gaming PC we tested, which shows you that Apple's latest mid-grade Mac chip is catching up to Intel's top-tier CPUs in terms of performance. Even storage performance is significantly better than the M1 Mac mini, as shown in the chart below. Do bear in mind, however, that we’ve tested the 2TB model here and that the performance of the base model with a 256GB SSD in the range will be slower, due to the way Apple has configured these models as a single chip. 512GB models and above should be faster as they’re configured as two or more SSD modules. Meanwhile, in good news for graphics designers and videographers, rendering in Final Cut Pro is also promised to be up to six times faster than on previous models.I don’t want a case,” you might be saying. “I just want it out of sight, out of mind.” Okay, so the Mac Mini isn’t the prettiest computer around, but it’s got a lot going for it—not only is it a stylish little machine that fits seamlessly into any decor thanks to its compact size, but it’s also got ample processing power, making it a great multimedia center for connected TV setups. All you need is a few cables and maybe an external hard drive or two, and you can have your movies, music and photos all in one place. Results are compared to previous-generation Mac mini systems with Apple M1, 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16GB of RAM, and 2TB SSD. The fact that you can run older Mac apps on the Mac mini (M1, 2020) is commendable, and with the M1 chip allowing iOS apps to be installed as well, it means the Mac mini continues to be a very versatile little PC. Apple is making some big claims here, promising that the M1 will offer the world's best CPU performance per watt. The M1 has an 8-core CPU consisting of four high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores to balance workloads, which Apple claims will enable it to process tasks nearly three times faster than the chip in the previous Mac mini. It's by far the best value mini PC you can buy right now, with other compact PCs either more expensive, such as the Intel NUC, or nowhere near as powerful. The closest Windows-based mini PC out there is the Geekom Mini IT11, which is slightly cheaper, but does not offer the same sleek design, nor does its quad-core Intel Core i7-1195G7 processor and integrated graphics come anywhere close to rivaling the M2 chip.

Compared to the previous-generation Mac mini, M2 and M2 Pro bring a faster next-generation CPU and GPU, much higher memory bandwidth, and a more powerful media engine to Mac mini, delivering extraordinary performance and industry-leading power efficiency. Both models feature an advanced thermal system for exceptional sustained performance. What I wasn’t quite expecting to see was such a bump in GPU performance. In the admittedly quite simple GFXBench Metal Car Chase benchmark, which is designed to test gaming graphics performance, you can see that the 16-core GPU in the M2 Pro outperforms that of the Apple Mac Studio with the M1 Ultra I tested last year.

This 3D-printed case for the Mac Mini M2 has two parts. A large groove for the Mac Mini and a horizontal slot for the iPad. This slot is fastened via a hinge, akin to a laptop screen. You can insert up to an 8.3-inch iPad Mini into this slot to be used as a monitor. The case has openings for the ports on the Mac Mini as well as on the iPad so that the I/O isn’t restricted. If you’re looking for a case for your Mac Mini, you’ve come to the right place. I’ve been scouring the Internet to find some of the best cases I could get my hands on, and I’ve rounded them up here for your convenience.
