About this deal

Featuring 20 'figure of 8' cells it is specially designed for users who are at a Very High Risk of developing pressure ulcers it is also suitable for those that have existing tissue damage (pressure ulcer grade 1 to 4). The static mode offers a stable surface to allow for extremely safe patient transfers and handling. Designed for users at high to very high risk, or have existing tissue damage (pressure ulcer grade 1 to 4) The Apollo Mattress presents a unique construction. This mattress uses layers of coils, high-density support foam, and more to provide a unique feel that is suitable for most sleepers. Comfort – Below the cooling cover, you’ll land on a comfort layer of copper-infused memory foam. This material has a slow response to pressure, allowing the sleeper to sink in for satisfying relief at the shoulders and hips. It’s also infused with cooling copper, which should help to absorb and dissipate body heat as you sink further into the mattress. Copper is also anti-microbial, so works to create an all-around healthier sleep environment. If you’re in the market for a memory foam mattress that sleeps cool, the Apollo could be a fantastic fit. Not only does it feature all the great sinkage, body-contouring, and pressure relief of the popular material, but it does so without overheating at night.

After rolling around on this bed, I decided to give it a 6/10 on the firmness scale. When compared to the industry standard of 6.5 for medium firmness, it’s clear that this bed is definitely on the softer side. Nothing does pressure relief as well as memory foam, so it’s no surprise this bed is a great option for those with pressure buildup. Pressure tends to build up in the hips, shoulders, and knees, depending on your preferred sleeping position. The Apollo mattress does a good job of alleviating the pressure by cushioning these areas, offering a gentle contour to a deep hug, depending on your body weight. Now that we’ve discussed the Apollo’s firmness, let’s test it out for two more attributes: Pressure Relief and Motion Transfer. Pressure Relief The Apollo II pump automatically detects which compatible dynamic surface has been connected and will adjust the pressure setting accordingly.

Bounce

Dynamic therapy for alternating action for lower interface pressures and gentle capillary stimulation Average Weight Sleepers– Average-weight stomach sleepers may sink too deeply into the comfort layers, especially if they weigh closer to 230 pounds. Apollo offers a 15-year warranty on each mattress. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship or manufacturing. The warranty is very particular about which types of defects are covered. Your warranty may be void if the mattress has spills, stains, cuts, or tears on the cover or the foam inside. If you use the Apollo mattress without a compatible frame, it can also void the warranty. The Wired Floor+ Alertamatcan be connectedto a nurse call system with a 3 metre cable provided for centralised activation, or used on its own, independent of a nurse call system to give localised alerts through the Alerta Alarm Monitor (sold separately). The Wired Floor+ Alertamat is a robustlong-life Alertamat and is most effective when placed at the bedside or doorway;activating thealarm when a user leaves their safe zone by stepping on the mat. This alerts the caregiver toascertain the user's safety. The light colour makes it an ideal solution for situations where a dementia user may try to avoid the mat.

Comfort control settings can be adjusted to ensure maximum user comfort. The default setting is 3 (1 is soft and 5 is firm). Hip Pain– Those with shoulder pain usually focus on softer mattresses, but even a medium firm can help relieve the pain. The Apollo mattress has that mid-range firmness to keep the body aligned, but its memory foam layers offer a cradle that helps relieve pain in the hip area. However, side sleepers with hip pain may want a softer bed. Second layer: 2 inches of 5G open-cell memory foam. It works with the layers above and below to reduce motion transfer. Foam density: 2.5 lbs/ft 3.Basically, it works like this: I roll out the device, hop aboard, and let the map do the rest. As I roll around, the map records how much force I’m exerting on the mattress, creating a colored “map” of the pressure. For reference, blue indicates areas of low pressure and red indicates areas of high pressure. I was impressed with the Apollo’s ability to relieve pressure Contour – Up next, you’ll find yet another layer of memory foam. This material has a similar feel to the one above it, but has swapped out the copper infusion for an open-cell design, which helps to promote extra airflow throughout the bed. I think folks who have traditionally avoided memory foam because of its tendency to trap heat could find a lot to love in these cooling layers! Average Weight Sleepers– Average-weight side sleepers should experience a deeper hug as the top memory foam layer allows more sinkage, especially for those closer to 230 pounds. And finally, I think this mattress could work well for couples, thanks in large part to its superb ability to absorb and isolate motion. Lightweight Sleepers– Lightweight stomach sleepers should experience this bed as firmer, which is likely to feel good in the hip area even with a bit of contouring around the pressure points.
