About this deal

The ultrawide doesn’t fare anywhere near as well as the main shooter, either. At 8MP, it simply doesn’t have access to the same raw information as the main sensor, and neither the lens nor Xiaomi’s AI are sufficiently advanced to prevent noise and distortions from creeping in at the edges. More problematically, the tone of the ultrawide is completely different to the main sensor. Things get worse when you get to 3D testing. I’m not really sure this needs all that much commentary: it has around half the performance of every other handset in our list, and suffice to say the difference between 41fps and 22fps in a game is very noticeable.

You have three color modes to play around with. These are vivid, saturated, and standard. Xiaomi recommends “vivid,” which changes the color saturation based on the app you’re using. We chose “standard” because it removes the radioactive red effect from your app icons. Plenty of people will love that kind of saturation, though. There are mitigating factors, of course. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G’s screen is lovely, the speakers are good. You can simply get phones much better suited to the job of playing games if that is your top priority. Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G software All the phones use Xiaomi’s Android fork called MIUI, but while the other Note 11 handsets use MIUI 13, you’re only getting MIUI 12.5 here - presumably, it’ll get updated at some point soon though.Xiaomi should really make the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G’s Night mode more accessible, as dim images shot using Auto can look rubbish at times. It sits in the additional modes section alongside less important things like time the time lapse video feature. Applies to calls made in in the UK and when roaming in our Europe Zone to standard landlines and mobiles. Minute minimum charges apply 2. Text message It's in the details that the camera starts to let itself down, with features like focus and HDR not quite as good as they are on the mid-range or flagship phones that you'll have to pay more for. As you can see from the camera samples below, certain areas can get muddy and colors can be a bit drab, especially when you're out taking pictures in the middle of February in England. Fortunately, things are better in terms of battery life, with the 5,000mAh cell going the distance and eclipsing every other phone in our test other than the freak-of-nature endurance of the Moto G50, which somehow managed an extra five hours.

The Xiaomi Redmi 11 Pro 5G is the successor to what might just be my favourite phone of last year, the Redmi Note 10 Pro. It's the same story with the storage. The basic Note 11 Pro comes with just 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. That's awfully pokey for a 2022 phone, but there are two ways around that if you don't mind spending extra. You can spec 128GB storage, either with 6GB or 8GB RAM, or use the SD card slot that will support up to another 1TB of space. In practice the two generations, the Note 10 Pro and Note 11 Pro, appear to be on a level in terms of performance. Day-to-day navigation is fairly swift, but with sub-flagship app-load speeds. And gaming performance is mediocre but, ultimately, perfectly good enough for many people’s needs.UK and Europe Zone data usage only. Data used while outside of our Europe Zone is not included. Applies if a data bundle Bolt On is not chosen. 5. Calls to customer services
