About this deal

Im not to keen on using ear drops unless I really have to. As it can give me dull hearing for a good few mins after using the ear drops.

Otex: Sodium Bicarbonate Ear Drops contains sodium bicarbonate, glycerol, dichlorobenzyl alcohol, and purified water. You have had your ear syringed in the last 2 to 3 days, or tried to remove the ear wax using fingernails, cotton buds or other implements, as this could make it painful to use the ear drops. If in doubt, consult a doctor, nurse or pharmacist before use. If irritation or pain occurs during use, or if symptoms persist, stop treatment and ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice. The National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) advises against trying to remove earwax or clean your ears by inserting small objects in your ear, even cotton buds . BEFORE USING OTEX SODIUM BICARBONATE EAR DROPS: Use in children under 5 years of age should be under medical supervision. There is anything else wrong with your ear (such as pain, swelling, discharge, infection or tinnitus) Ear drops work by softening the wax. If your ear wax isn’t clearing, try ear drops for 3–5 days initially, unless you’ve got a suspected perforation in your eardrum. Before having these treatments, you'll probably be advised to use ear drops for a few days to soften the wax. This liquid treatment comes with a handy rubber squeeze bottle (basically a syringe) which makes the drops easy to administer without causing a mess. You can use the bottle to keep your ears clean with warm water once the treatment has cleared out your excess ear wax. Users report that it only takes around three or four days of twice-daily treatment to clear their ears. Ear wax (‘cerumen’) is pretty useful for keeping infections and water off your precious ear drums. But too much of it can be uncomfortable and even interfere with your hearing, so the best ear wax removers help you get excess wax under control safely at home. Those are the ear drops my doctor gave me a few years ago and they worked for me after 7 or 8 days but I did end up with an ear infection before doctor recommend them.

Some ear wax remover liquids come in spray form, which you may find easier to administer than drops. Some also come with special syringe-style applicators to help get the solution safely into your ear and deliver a measured amount with each squirt. The theory is that the suction created by ear candling pulls wax and debris from your ear when you light the candle and place it in the ear canal.

Review Overview

Studies show that rubber bulb irrigation which is low pressure could be worth trying before going to the GP and requesting ear irrigation, and could be successful in around half of cases. Chances are you probably know all there is to know about Chemist Direct, but if you don’t then here’s a little more detail about them. Thanks for that. Will go and get that ear spray next week and give it a try. I got hospital appointment this Friday for my ears so will also see what they say.
