Never use ibuprofen gel, mousse or spray on your eyes, mouth, lips, nose or genital area. It may make them sore. Do not put it on sore or broken skin. Systemic lupus erythematosus as well as mixed connective tissue disease – increased risk of aseptic meningitis (see section 4.8).

Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have an underlying medical condition, are taking any other medication or complementary therapy, or if symptoms persist If you are prescribed ibuprofen as a regular medicine and forget to take a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next dose. In this case, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the usual time. Caution (discussion with doctor or pharmacist) is required prior to starting treatment in patients with a history of hypertension and/or heart failure as fluid retention, hypertension and oedema have been reported in association with NSAID therapy. 6.2 Incompatibilities

Having said that, there is very little difference between the majority of Nurofen products and a standard ibuprofen product - especially because the doses of the active ingredients are the same in both products. However, Nurofen’s fast acting tablets do just that, and act faster than your standard ibuprofen product. Medicines and their possible side effects can affect individual people in different ways. The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with short-term use of ibuprofen in non-prescription doses. Nurofen Plus should only be used when your doctor decides that other treatment options are not able to effectively manage your pain or you cannot tolerate them. Effects on laboratory tests. Nurofen liquid capsules, Nurofen express liquid capsules and Nurofen express period pain capsules should be swallowed with a drink. These capsules contain ibuprofen in liquid form. These start to work faster than all the other Nurofen dose forms mentioned here. The risk of GI bleeding, ulceration or perforation is higher with increasing NSAID doses, in patients with a history of ulcer, particularly if complicated with haemorrhage or perforation (see section 4.3), and in the elderly. These patients should commence treatment on the lowest dose available.
