Once you have your cards ready, you can use them whenever and wherever you like with your children. It will ask them to find things related to their five sensory receptors, such as five things that are small or five things that taste sweet. This is a creative way for children who benefit from sensory play to match the taste, sound, smell, sight or texture of something to an adjective. There are 4 special spaces on the board that change the Name 5 game rules to some extent. These spaces include a special set of rules : Divide the cards into two piles. Place each pile face down in front of each team. Play in two teams of 2 or 3 players each. Each team selects a token. These naming things challenge cards are great for children to use for many reasons. Firstly, they help children to explore their senses in a safe environment. This is great for children who may need extra sensory input or need something to calm them down and keep them in the present moment. When both players who have read the card are ready, they both announce the category to their respective teams and the teams race to be the first to Name 5 from their category. Combine the Adjectives and Nouns: Now that you’ve got a list of nouns and adjectives you can combine them into one big list of awesome game names. This will allow you to make more unique and interesting games. For our pirate ship game example, we can put all of our adjectives and nouns together to form a cool and descriptive name like “The Fancy Pirate”, “The Rusty Boat” or “Dangerous Treasure”.
