The 12 days of Christmas traditionally represent the birth of Christ followed by the arrival of the Three Wise Men, 12 days later. This is typically the date when people take down their trees and the festive period is officially over - so why not mark that countdown with a little treat each day, too? Spoiler alert* - we will be doing a deep dive on the products included in the LookFantastic Advent Calendar this year, so if you’d rather it be a surprise, then scroll with caution because there are photos and a full content list below. By my count, there are 13 skin and body care products, four hair care products, seven cosmetics and two fragrance items, which makes for a pretty great mix of pamper products. However, I believe the correct way to open a 12 day advent calendar is to start on Boxing Day, and open the last box on January 6, celebrating the 12 days of Christmas. We’ve rounded up some of our favourites from this year - some of which are still available to buy for a reduced price now that December has begun.
Our verdict: “Although it’s one of the more expensive beauty advent calendars I’ve been able to analyse this year, it’s one of the best too, featuring`brands and products I’ll genuinely use. There’s a really great variety included from makeup must-haves to TikTok sensations, each door truly holds a moment of beauty joy.” While they’re marketed as Advent calendars, even if you’re not intending to open them day-by-day, they can be worth it to get products for much cheaper than you'd normally buy them for separately. They're also great for dividing up as gifts for multiple friends/family members in hampers for Christmas or as birthday gifts throughout the year.” When Christmas day is over, all the pigs in blankets are eaten, and the recycling bin is full of wrapping paper and cardboard - what’s there left to do with your ‘Twixmas’? The limbo between Boxing Day and New Year is where you essentially slip into a food-induced trance, find space for all of your new gifts and work out what from your wardrobe and cupboards can go to the charity shop in January. The fact that two of the product total more than the price you pay for the box, it’s pretty good going, and if you happen to come across a product you’re unlikely to use, you can pop it in with someone’s Christmas present to save yourself a bit of cash and spread the festive cheer.”

What I love about beauty advent calendars is that the boxes can often be upcycled - for example, this one can be used to create a hamper-style gift for a friend later in the year, or transformed into a handy storage solution that can be displayed in your dressing room. The contents Before being treated to this calendar to review the only 'festive style' products I've had is as a present from my boyfriend's mum, where it's almost become a tradition each Christmas to get the L'Occitane star hanging gift set, which is lovely in it's own right but an entirely different product. Our verdict: “The Revolution You Are The Revolution 25 Day Advent Calendar 2022 is a fantastic beauty advent calendar for those who want in on the trend without spending a fortune. From what I’ve already unboxed, all of the products seem pretty universal for all skin tones, and therefore would make the ideal gift for your loved ones, or a treat for yourself.” The drawers are all varying sizes, each filled with at least one product and topped with a sheet of red tissue paper. The biggest boxes are day one, five and day 25, with small and medium boxes scattered throughout. Some people were, however, thrilled with what they managed to bag through the advent calendar. @Weggster tweeted: "I’ve won on the M&S 12 Days of Christmas advent calendar.
