About this deal

Introducing the revolutionary ghd duet style - the first 2-in-1 hot air styler* that dries and styles hair at the same time with 45% less energy consumption** and no heat damage**. If you have curly or wavy hair and like to blow dry your lengths to be straight, this tool will revolutionise your routine—I'm absolutely certain of that. The extra heat and clamping motion sets it miles above any blow-dry brush or multi-styler out there for this sort of thing. If that's you, please don't let anything else that I'm about to say put you off. I appreciated how the device wasn't too noisy (in comparison to a regular hair dryer), however, I found that the plates were a bit too large to allow for precision straightening near the root area. The shine shot did give me the finish that I was looking for and my hair felt super silky afterwards, however, considering the amount of time that it took me to achieve all this, I'm not sure if it's the type of hair tool that I would reach for on an everyday basis, especially when I'm in a rush.

Achieve gorgeously sleek, smooth and glossy hair with unprecedented softness for up to 48h***. With exclusive Shine Shot™ mode for use on dry hair only, duet style transforms into a ghd styler operating at the optimal 185°C styling temperature with no air - delivering instant frizz-free results*** with 2x more shine and 3.5x more hair alignment****. Unique aerodynamics deliver an ultra-powerful yet efficient performance, minimising energy waste for up to 45% less energy consumption†. A bespoke acoustic system lowers sound levels*** while drying for a more pleasant styling experience. The bigger plates just aren't cut out for curling. I already knew this from trying the GHD Max, mind you. When I first heard about the Duet Style, I was hoping it might help me achieve a bouncy blow-out sort of look. I assumed that by manipulating the angles at which you glide the styler through the lengths, you'd be able to get some waves and curls as it dried. And while it does create some movement, as with the GHD Max, the wider and squarer nature of the plates leaves unwanted lines in the hair. The final verdict Yes, you can't really create anything else but poker-straight strands ( mermaid waves and tight curls are sadly out of the question) but it really does what it says on the tin. I'd never seen my hair this healthy-looking after using a hair tool.Introducing the ground-breaking innovation that allows you to dry and style hair at the same time - meet ghd duet style.

Yes, the whole way in which you use it takes some adjusting to, but personally, I think it's fantastic. As somebody with long, fine, thin hair, I found that using the GHD Duet Style actually gave my hair way more lift at the roots than I'm used to achieving at home. My hair was full of volume and looked like it was in optimal health. Create multiple styles with ghd duet style - our ground-breaking hot air styler that allows you to simultaneously dry and straighten hair without heat damage**, using just one tool; perfect for all hair types.

The Verdict:

On paper, my ghd Duet Style review was a success, but there was a moment post-styling where I looked at my rod-straight hair and wondered if ghd is 10 years too late with this innovation. Even straight-hair coveters like me have graduated to the idea of a soft wave instead of poker straight hair. ghd doesn’t mention waving or curling hair with this product, but I thought I’d give it a go. Using the shine shot, I was able to add a subtle wave to my hair, which made my finished style feel softer and more modern. The plates are wide, so this wouldn’t be possible on short hairstyles, just shoulder-length to long hairstyles and it takes a bit of practice to get the technique right (even if you already know how to curl hair with a straightener) ghd claims that their unique 'Air-fusion' tech (sounds science-y, right?) allows for ultra concentrated airflow to effectively dry and straighten hair at a lower temperature. Thus, avoiding stripping the hair of its natural moisture and minimising damage.

Anyone who knows me would be able to confirm that I wear my hair straight 99.9% of the time. As someone who has naturally wavy hair, I've tried tons of hair straighteners and hot air brushes alike, so when I heard about the new GHD wet-to-dry styler, I was almost immediately sold. A hair dryer and a straightener that claims to style and dry your hair with no damage? Yes, to all of the above.

Once your hair is totally dry, you can also use the Duet Style as a normal straightener by putting it into Shine Shot mode. This turns off the motor and increases the heat in the styling plates to GHD's standard 185°C to get that next-level shine and sleekness. Who is the GHD Duet Style best for? But the attention to detail really does pay off. My hair came out of the styler super smooth and super straight. I’d say it took a similar amount of time to style my hair with the Duet Style compared to my usual hairdryer and straighteners tag team, but there is something very satisfying about knowing you’ve completely finished one section before moving on to the next. I didn’t need to use the shine shot, and my hair stayed shiny and frizz-free until my next shampoo. What’s not so good about the GHD Duet Style? So with all of that said, I want to now explain why the GHD Duet Style isn't going to become my daily tool. Don't get me wrong—I'll still use it for days when I want to keep my hair straight, but it isn't going to replace my hair dryer and curling tongs when I want to opt for something wavy or curled. And here's why. no thermal hair damage detected after 100 cycles of 4 passes in wet to style mode vs naturally dried hair Slide the power button upwards to turn ON your Duet Style. After a few seconds you will hear the fan ramp up as it heats up to the optimal low styling temperature for wet hair. Once the light stops flashing and the product beeps, it is ready to use.Bespoke acoustic system designed to lower sound levels for a more pleasant and refined styling experience.
