About this deal

Endosorb is used as an anti-diarrheal medication in dogs. It can help manage uncomplicated diarrhea, improve stool consistency, and relieve discomfort associated with diarrhea in dogs. How to Give Endosorb to Dogs

Anti-diarrheal agents, de-wormers, and/or probiotics (bacteria that support intestinal health) may be prescribed. There are several probiotic products that may be helpful in dogs with diarrhea. As the quality and effectiveness of these products are not always known, consult your veterinarian before offering anything to your dog. Many cases of acute diarrhea respond quite readily to this conservative treatment, allowing the body's healing mechanisms to correct the problem, without the initial cause ever being established. As the stools return to normal, your dog’s regular diet can usually be transitioned from the prescribed veterinary diet over seven to ten days.Furthermore, stop ranitidine treatment if diarrhea is accompanied by or if you notice the following symptoms: Diarrhea is the term used when your dog passes non-formed loose or watery stool more often and in larger amounts than they would normally defecate. It is a common condition that is a sign or symptom of other diseases or issues rather than a disease itself.

It's one of the safer human meds for dogs out there, but studies show that continuous use makes it less effective with time.Although Endosorb is available over the counter, you should always talk to your veterinarian first before starting any medication for dog diarrhea. This is especially important if your dog exhibits other symptoms such as vomiting, lethargy, loss of appetite, fever, or other changes in health and behavior. These can be signs of a more serious medical problem requiring veterinary intervention. Pet owners sometimes resort to human medicine for dogs since it's the fastest solution they can get themselves.

That said, it should never be given to dogs with compromised kidney function and should be used with care in senior dogs after you consult with a vet. You will also notice that as per dosage warnings among the safe human meds for dogs below, we have NOT included any dosing information—this is done intentionally. Unfortunately, nearly every pet will experience diarrhea at some point in their lives. If your dog has diarrhea, your veterinarian may recommend a product called Endosorb to help. Endosorb is an absorbent, anti-diarrheal, and demulcent medication designed to soothe the gastrointestinal (GI) tract and stabilize stool consistency. It can help improve your dog’s diarrhea and its associated symptoms. What is Endosorb?Feed your dog very small meals throughout the day. This will keep their guts moving without overwhelming them. When your dog starts to experience pain or certain conditions, take them to the vet immediately. READ NEXT: That's because omeprazole treatments are mainly for human use and have never been officially approved for animal use. Imodium, when administered at safe levels, is not helpful for pain and, therefore, will not relieve any abdominal discomfort your dog may have. While, in some cases, Imodium may help, there are others where it can cause potentially serious side effects. Some of these side effects include constipation, sedation, bloating, and even pancreatitis. You should never give Imodium to your dog if:

Sucralfate is a very safe medication because it isn’t absorbed into your dog’s system from the intestine. Is sucralfate safe to give with other medications? Poisoning may result from misuse by pet owners, off-label use of medicines, or more frequently, accidental ingestion of drugs that are improperly stored.Probiotics are thought to work by topping up the normal bacteria and binding nasty bacteria and toxins. Probiotics can be bought at your vets or online. In addition, there should be a limit to using hydrocortisone creams. You should keep an eye out for side effects like behavior changes, weakness, and nausea. Atropine/Diphenoxylate is used by humans to manage diarrhea, and it's also used to treat diarrhea and colitis in dogs and cats. Do not use in dogs that are positive for the MDR1 gene. Some breeds of dogs (e.g., Collies, Sheepdogs, and Collie- or Sheepdog-cross breeds) are more sensitive to loperamide than others. This is typically due to a specific genetic mutation (MDR1) that makes them less able to tolerate high doses of loperamide. Your veterinarian will advise you on the safety of loperamide use in your dog. Being able to answer your vet's questions about your pet’s diet, environment, habits, behavior and knowing the details about your dog’s diarrhea will aid in narrowing the list of possible causes.
