I believe I could write this review for days...parsing out every idea and dimension illuminated by this author in her retelling... her studied envisioning of a "New Camelot" with a novel solution to the uncomfortable relationship quandaries left by the more familiar telling of the story. There is a lovely promise in this story. The language is beautiful and lofty befitting this timeless story of love and honor. There is heart-stopping action and keening suspense in the story. Gradually like the early morning mists from a lake, the story begins to take on an other-worldly quality that adds to the romance and over-all charm.Here’s what I think, little prince. Here’s what I know— and you know it too. Yes, there are numerous sex scenes in the book. Some readers may even think that it is one long sex scene with a few intervals that include an actual story. Greer, Emery and Maxen have so many scorching hot moments in every possible combination. You may just want to read those and forget the rest of the book. I believe it is understandable. There's Greer, Swan Graceful, Regal in demeanour and Natural submissive to her King. Her unquestioned Loyalty and love makes her the ultimate Guinevere. She's the perfect woman created to embrace the complexed relationship. Her reserved Beauty and Resilient Elegance making her a prized Diva and both Ash & Embry feel honoured to gain audience in her heart. It belongs there. It always belonged there, Ash. It should have been your ring from the beginning.”

American King is one of these books. I have no words to describe how much I loved this book, I adored it! It is unlike anything I've ever read before. It is perfection. Parts of this book, especially towards the end, impacted me so greatly that I actually sobbed. My heart was beating wildly in my chest as I read this final installment. Ash's values and leadership were shining gold in the end. These were the things that mattered. These qualities that changed the world and made it a more peaceful and better place...His past, even fated mistakes caused pain to those he loved; but in the long run...the world was a better place for the rule of this "King" It starts with the President sending his best friend to woo me on his behalf, and it ends with my heart split in two. To be honest, when I read the ending of the book, I thought that the author was not brave enough. That she just wanted to make everyone happy and satisfied. And that this was not the end that she really wanted. Maybe she wanted a more tragic ending. After I read the AFTERWORD, I realized that this was her attempt to correct things. And I totally support this!
