About this deal

Lily gets dragged into a family luncheon by her older sister Rose. At the luncheon all three of her sisters think she's pregnant because she's not drinking. In actuality, she's remaining sober because her pretend boyfriend is "perpetually drunk". They understood and spent most of their lives concealing their addictions from everyone around them but they were also such enablers to it. They both didn’t want to seek out help for each other bc then it would mean they’d have to let go of their own addiction which neither was willing to do. Lily would enable lo’s uncontrolled drinking and lo would enable her sexual appetite and it became a normalized ritual for them.

Isn’t this the part where our love overcomes our addictions? Where our problems magically solve from a kiss and a promise?' Ryke, Connor and Rose are definitely the standouts for me. Connor and Rose are absolutely adorable and I dig their enemies to lovers while Ryke is just perfect?? At this point I couldn’t care less about Lily and Loren’s relationship because they’re the type of people that should never ever be together. Unless we want to say goodbye to our luxuries from our inherited wealth, we have to pretend to be together. And pretend that we’re two perfectly functioning, perfectly well-kept human beings.” NYT & USA Today Bestselling Authors Krista & Becca Ritchie are identical twins—one a science nerd, the other a comic book geek—but with their shared passion for writing, they combined their mental powers as kids and have never stopped telling stories. They love superheroes, flawed characters, and soul mate love. Debauchery, depravity might be harsh to describe what Lo and Lily’s life was like since teenage-hood but crudely honest. In the story, the two of them had been friends for most of their lives —their fathers were mogul-best-friends— but after high-school they decided to go into an unhealthy spiral by hiding each other’s addiction from their families and starting a fake-relationship. Lo was dealing with alcoholism since his 11 year old and Lily was taming a sex addiction that bloomed at her 13 year old. After three long years of lying to their wealthy-families —accessory to each other, too— they finally thought; why don’t we try and be in a real relationship together, after all?despite all this, i can appreciate how the authors showed - not told - the struggles and negative aspects of what sex addicts go through and how it can impact friendships and family relationships. it felt real to me so that's why it was so painful to read. but again, there's A LOT more bad than good in this book in every sense so yeah it makes sense for every encounter to be painful. though, i just finished Ricochet now and lemme tell y'all- Lily's character development tho. YES. This couple, THIS M*****F***ING COUPLE!!! I can't even express how much i love them and how much they mean to me in a few sentences. Together, they'll fight for their happily-ever-after against odds greater than themselves. The series spans years of time. Watch Lily & Lo grow up, grow old, and ultimately grow together because in the end, there's no Lo without Lily. No Lily without Lo.

Six years of miscommunication. One of us could have opened up. Instead we let the tension build between us, growing a lie.” We're terrible at so many things - remembering important dates, college, making friends - but the one thing we've always been halfway decent at is being together. We owe it to ourselves to try." Some characters plopped themselves into the lives of Loren and Lily and refused to leave them alone which seemed a little unrealistic, though perhaps not in the face of addicts. Both of these characters are destructive, damaged and flawed. And I loved them both. Lo is such a fantastic guy- he had so many issues of his own but he loves Lily fiercely and wants her to be his. I adored him. I also loved all of the secondary characters- Ryke, Connor, even Rose by the end. I can’t wait to read more about them and I’m happy to know they’ll be getting their own books! Okay I know my updates gave you the impression I like this book, well... to be honest I do like it! And I enjoyed it! It's just there were some certain things that I didn't like and it bothered me enough to give me this review.

the worst part was hearing you. you know, i’d stay awake, listening to you, wondering if your cries would turn terrified, wondering if some guy decided to take advantage or hurt you.” Nauseating lurches from humour to horror ... it’s all part of the You experience. Photograph: Beth Dubber/Netflix Connor texts Rose to come over and Lily finally tells Rose about her sex addiction and Loren's alcoholism. Over the next week, Loren goes through detoxification with a nurse hired by Connor. He decided he didn't want to go to rehab and instead stay with Lily. Lily makes no change to her addictive behaviours. Lily was a paradoxical character but lovable, nonetheless. The contrast between her shy and reserved personality but brazen love for sex —in all its aspects— was an interesting part of the storyline. Were her actions morally okay ? No. Did she treat well her family and Lo, in general? Also no. Did this book marketed as romance? If not why did I get that impression? Not sure why- I'm sorry if I got the wrong impression because I'm sure this is not a romance book.

Lily uses sex for the natural high and to ignore unwanted emotions. Loren uses alcohol similarly. To keep up the lie, they go as far as inventing fictional friends Charlie and Stacey as a way to get out of seeing family. Kiss the Sky is the first book in the Calloway Sisters series. The book features Rose Calloway, a 23-year old who thinks that she has her life figured out. Rose is a Princeton graduate, an accomplished fashion designer, and her father is a Fortune 500 mogul. She is dating her intellectual counterpart Connor Cobalt. From the outside, she is the epitome of success. The only thing not going right for Rose is her sister, a sex addict. That was all included in it. I should have realised it from the beginning but now at the end the realisation has hit me hard. I have always said one thing: “True love is when the only thing stopping the lovers from getting together is the world or fate. Not themselves”I didn’t just have sex for fun or because it made me feel empowered. I liked the high, the rush, and how it seemed to fill an emptiness that kept growing inside of me.” It’s like we’ve been married our whole lives, and now we have to separate. I know it’s for the best, but the hurt still festers like a new wound.”

They love superheroes, flawed characters, and soul mate love. Synopsis: “As a sex addict, Lily Calloway must do the impossible. Stay celibate for 90 days. Cravings and fantasies become her new routine, but while Loren Hale recovers from his alcohol addiction, Lily wonders if he’ll realize what a monster she really is. After all, her sexual compulsions begin to rule her life the longer she stays faithful to him. But when they go on a family boat trip, surrounded by open seas and limited male bodies in sight, Lily’s confronted with a big fear. Only one guy onboard can fill her addiction, and she’s sworn off going there with Loren Hale ever again. Well, this was certainly different! I've had this book sitting on my shelf for a long time. Finally, I got a chance to listen to it. I'm not quite sure what I expected, but this wasn't it. That isn't necessarily bad though. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this story. Why can’t I have an addiction that people understand? It’s a vile thought—to wish for an addiction many die with.” Lily has more one-night-stands and Loren starts a sexual relationship with a woman named Cassie. That week, Lily goes through a blur of sex with strangers to the point that she didn't even know what the day was.
