I appreciated watching her progress and grow into the woman that she worked hard to become towards the end of the book but she still has a long way to go yet and I’m looking forward to reading their second book. (I’ve not even read the blurb for it yet 😭) Women Not Named Kiara ✦ Why do Savio, Nino, Remo, and basically every man in this book need to be so disrespectful towards the women THEY PAY to have sex with them. The descriptions of how rough they are towards them, and how much they disregard / degrade them just got uncomfortable and old after a while. I'm not pointing fingers at just this book either, more like at the series as a whole. It seems that if you're a woman in any of these books and you're not the protagonist you will be treated like garbage. What I thought author Cora Reilly did a really great job with was showing that trauma doesn't just magically go away. Kiara had a very brutal past and that didn't just disappear. Instead we saw Kiara slowly come to realize she didn't need to be in "fight or flight" mode anymore. This was both a burgeoning love story between Nino and Kiara, as much as it was a story of Kiara reclaiming herself. First off, this is my favorite book by CR. Nino is hands down my favorite MMC. Hell, he might be my favorite MMC in mafia romance.

Yes, Nino took care of her in a very soft way, but what made him love her? What did she do that he liked so much? I feel like the answer to that is non-existent, because they didn’t really connect on a deeper level like that. He calmed her down and helped her with her trauma, and they had sex. That’s the extent of their relationship. Which, once again, was a sweet relationship in itself, but not a very romantic one in my opinion. The Falcone Brothers ✧ Man I just love this family (except maybe Savio. . .he got on my nerves in this one). I love the way the brothers are so loyal to each other that you know nothing could ever tear them apart. Even if at times they slightly wanted to maim each other ;) This was not my first novel by Cora Reilly and its been a while since I read a good arranged marriage mafia story: she does here what she does best and I for one as expected enjoyed myself immensely. KIARA OWNS MY HEART. The softest, most precious girl. 🥺 I've never read a romance book where I'd love both main characters with equal force. Their tenderness toward each other does something unfathomably messy to my insides.Mr. Roboto ✦ Oh MY GOD, if I had to hear about how Nino was an emotionless robot one more time I was gonna punch someone. They just kept repeating it CONSTANTLY. Every other character kept reminding me of it and it got to be so annoying. Like we get he won't be able to truly love Kiara *gasp*.

And yet even though he was 100% full Remo he still captured my heart with the clear love and loyalty he held for his family. Like that scene when Nino tells Kiara to get Remo and Remo immediately goes to him? PERFECTION. Or how at her wedding Remo could sense that Kiara couldn't handle dancing with her Uncle and immediately sought to eliminate what was making her uncomfortable. Remo has a lot of depth you've just gotta dig really really deep to find it. Nino and Remo's bond was one the major highlights of this book and if you don't care about the romance it is the only other reason to read Twisted Emotions. The way they simply took responsibility for everyone and made a stabby and wholesome family?? my heart- 😫❤️‍🩹🤞 Kiara is the daughter of a traitor. A stigma that never goes away. Entering into a marriage with Nino is the last thing she wants, yet there is no choice. Her husband may be ruthless and deadly, but the bloodbath of their wedding night makes him the dark knight she never thought she deserved.If you tell your sister that you gave Leona that bracelet, she will convince him. Fabiano. okay ngl, I like him but he was the least I paid attention to in this book LOL idk if it’s cause the others just peaked my interest more or what 😅 I’m happy to see updates of him and Leona tho 🥰
