I found this cool treasure box and it was cute to watch how excited Connor was to dig it up a real treasure chest and open it with the key. I designed our son’s dinosaur party invitations to have a vintage aesthetic. Once again I wanted the dinosaur invitations to have a look that was vintage, tropical and playful too. Because I wanted the invitation to seem like it was from another time period, I needed the paper to look old and worn. Dinosaur Birthday Party Dessert Table with Decor Three Rex Dinosaur Party Decor A chocolate dinosaur birthday cake looks like earth or mud under the dinosaur’s feet when you cut into the cake and decorate it. After the paper dried, he ripped it into 8 ½ by 11 sized paper and we ran it through our printer and printed two invitations per piece. Plush dinos - we also displayed a few plush dinosaurs around the house. They are the perfect touch to bring the whole look together. We went with medium-sized ones from Ikea. I used a star tip with my piping bag, but you can use a grass-tip. You can also use a rubber cake spatula to spread your icing carefully around your three-rex cake. Take extra care around the edges of your number so they don’t tear. Toy dinosaur sheet cake decorations Connor loves playing treasure hunt so I created an elaborate (but still age appropriate for a three year old) treasure hunt for his party. I chose my favorite photo from our explorer photo shoot and printed it on the same paper we dyed with the tea as a 5″x7″ and included it in the invitation. It was kind of a party fail because nobody could break it except Brent and even then it took him several times before he ended up hitting the head off it in a somewhat disturbing manner. Ha. Dinosaur balloons - I placed 4d foil balloons around the dessert table including a stegosaurus balloon, triceratops balloon, and t-rex balloon. Foam dinosaurs - I cut foam paper into dinosaur shapes by tracing around dinosaur cookie cutters and then cutting them out. Our little man is officially 3 years old. To celebrate his third birthday, we hosted a three rex dinosaur birthday party with his friends and their families. Three Rex Birthday Party If you have many shades of food coloring to play with, try using one drop of yellow, one drop of blue, and one drop of brown to get the same shade of green you see in my photos. Adding a tiny bit of brown will give you a slightly more sophisticated sage green color. But a bright shade of green frosting for a dinosaur cake is also a great idea; it will look like eye-catching grass. For a three-rex birthday cake, use some wax paper the same size as your cake and draw a three on it for a 3rd birthday party. You can also make a ‘roar-four birthday cake’ or any other number you’d like. It will look great. He really got into character this year and we played pretend that we were explorers hunting for dinosaurs in the jungle (the flowerbed behind my parent’s pool) while I took photos of our adventure with our Canon EOS REBEL.
