About this deal

A tornado of events transpires when Alex, the wealthy land owner’s son, develops an obsession with making Annabel become his wife. Thus, creating a horrifying love triangle that opens doors to the dark side. Annabel is convinced her life and those of who she loves depend upon her uncovering the dark secrets hidden behind the walls of Gothelstone Manor. This book begin with Grace Hamblin growing up as a young girl, in England, the daughter of a Beekeeper. This book follows her life as she is growing up - her friendships and first love, and her love for bees. Grace sighed. “I’m afraid Evelyn’s probably right. Trixie has fallen for a young man who plays in a band. I don’t mind that, he’s perfectly nice, I’m sure, but . . .”

Love is a major theme in the novel: romantic love, familial love, first love, lost love. Is it possible to be in love with two people at the same time? Do you think the characters in the book find the love they want? I don’t want to. He’ll be furious. But I’ll have to. Otherwise, he’ll hear it from someone else. Bill Durlacher teeing off at the fifth hole, most likely!” She laughed out of anxiety rather than merriment. On a scale of one to five billion, how romantic was this novel? Five billion, without a doubt. Oh my goodness, book lovers, I finished The Beekeeper's Daughter by Santa Montefiore in the stupidly early hours of this morning, and I do not regret it one single bit, because it was absolutely incredible, and I freaking adored it.

Our Mission

Dorset, 1933:Grace Hamblin is growing up on a beautiful rural estate. The only child of the beekeeper, she knows her place and her future - until her father dies unexpectedly and leaves her bereft and alone. Alone, that is, except for the man she loves, whom she knows she can never have. Duty is what makes us civilized, Grace. Doing the right thing and not always thinking of ourselves is vital if we don’t want society to fall apart at the seams. The young have no sense of duty, and by the sound of things they don’t have much respect, either. I fear the future is a place with no morals and a distorted sense of what’s important. But I’m not here to preach to you. I’m here to support you.” Those boys are writing an album, apparently, and Joe’s helping them,” Belle continued. “He has a recording studio in his basement.” I was very excited to read another book about bees after having read about them in The secret life of bees. However, it turns out that the books have nothing in common other than bees.

Duty comes up in several ways during the course of the novel. Big tells Grace, “It’s your duty as a wife to stand by his side on all matters.” To which Grace replies, “I do hate that word.” Discuss what duty to means to Grace, Rufus, Freddie, and Jasper. Has a sense of duty positively or negatively affected their lives? This was a sweet "comfort" zone read for me. Love story, England, gardens, bees, blah, blah, blah. All the stuff that makes me happy. And it did make me happy except I didn't buy the ending. The author tried to sell us on the idea that Grace loved Freddie her whole life when clearly that wasn't the case. If she really did, why would she hold onto all those old letters from Rufus? and hide them so she could reread them in private?? It made no sense. Plus the sobbing when she discovered who Jasper was?? Definitely not an over & done with fling!Or anyone of any importance at all? He claims to know everybody. He’s an old boaster, that’s all,” said Blythe. Oh, she’s a wonderful gardener,” Belle added emphatically. “The gardens of Tekanasset were all very ordinary before she arrived from England and transformed them with her wonderful taste and expertise.”

When Grace is tending to her bees she often feels a presence. On her wedding day, Grace thinks she sees her mother. Where else do ghosts or spirits make an appearance in the novel? Discuss the importance of spirits in the novel.Wow, I would have to say that I am speechless, this book was utterly amazing on so many levels and I can't praise it enough. England, 1932: Grace Hamblin is growing up on the beautiful estate of the Marquiss and Marchioness of Penselwood. The beekeeper’s daughter, she knows her place and her future—that is until her father dies and leaves her alone. Her childhood friend Freddie has recently become her lover, and she is thankful when they are able to marry and take over her father’s duties. But there is another man whom she just can’t shake from her thoughts…

The first couple of chapters introduce the life of Grace with her husband and daughter in an idyllic Tekanasset island. Like any other Santa Montefiore Novel, beekeeper’s daughter also begins with the elaborated narrative of the gorgeous island in the 1970s. From rose adorned clubhouses to the grassy hills for birdwatchers. I am sure this Island is worth your visit even now. Santa converted to Judaism before the marriage. The wedding was held at the Liberal Jewish Synagogue, with which her husband's family have been associated for generations. Their long-time friends, Charles, Prince of Wales, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, attended the wedding.

A music video for "Beekeeper's Daughter", directed by Isaac Rentz, was shot in late January 2012 [4] and released on February 2 onto Vevo. [5] It evolves around the band's front-man Tyson Ritter acting carefree while walking through a city after just being rejected by his girlfriend while various pedestrians - some dressed distinctively - take part in dance routines along his way. The video also features a cameo appearance from American singer and entertainer Wayne Newton. In The Beekeeper's Daughter, there were a number of major characters that Santa introduced to me. Even though the author switched the narrative between certain characters, I felt like Grace was the main character within this story. When Grace was first introduced to me, it was in the present day, and she entered the Crab Cove Golf Club with her good friend Big, and strolled past a bunch of gossiping, wealthy women. My first impressions of Grace were all made due to this sentence. Oh, really, Big!” Grace laughed incredulously. “You might be as rich as Croesus but you’re not as old as the Ark and you’re certainly not a whale!” It is 1937, England is bracing itself for the possibility of war and young Grace Hamblin is getting married. Yet, as she is poised to pledge the rest of her life to Freddie Valentine, she is torn between her childhood sweetheart and the dashing aristocrat she knows she can never have, in spite of the ferocity of her love. The price she pays for doing the right thing is great and she carries her pain to the other side of the world, where Freddie, returned from war a different man, carries his own pain and a mighty secret.
