About this deal

They go to see Annabeth's father, Dr. Chase, to ask for help. Percy notes that the Chase home is one that 'looks like it had been lived in forever.' Dr. Chase lends them his car, and before they leave, Percy makes a promise to Mrs. Chase to tell Annabeth that she still had a home there. As they drive up the mountain, the car explodes due to a lightning bolt that Kronos threw to make Thalia angry at her father. This time, Percy's going to need help and he's found two powerful demigods for the job. . .There's just the small problem of the prophecy. The one that has predicted not all of them will survive.

The Huntress girls were really interesting to meet and of course I’ve heard much of the famous Nico (he’s pretty precious and adorable) and Bianca. I love how characters that were introduced in book 1 and 2 make reappearances!! And they both also share the beautiful fact that they have a great great, great villain. Seriously now, Luke is so damn great! Kronos - A Titan condemned to Tartarus. He is being resurrected through a gold sarcophagus. He is not only the father of Zeus, Poseidon and Hades, but of Chiron as well. I should've written this review a few days ago but I didn't because I was pretty busy and well, lazy as well hahaha. My first year in university has started since Monday and I have been pretty busy with tasks lately but I'm enjoying my college life! ( so far ) it's so much fun!Zoë Nightshade - Daughter of Atlas. Zoë is the lieutenant and the oldest member of the Hunters of Artemis (she states that she has led the hunt for 2,000 years). She is over hundreds of years old, but still looks approximately 14 due to her immortality. She is turned into a constellation by Artemis when she dies, so that she would forever live in the stars and be honored by the world. Bianca sacrifices herself in the Junkyard of the Gods, which is located in the Southwestern U.S. desert region, to save the group from the Talos prototype.

Skeleton Warriors - They are monsters who were formed from ancient dragon teeth after Atlas plants them in soil and waters them in blood. When Percy, Thalia, and Annabeth arrive, the gods have already started the meeting. Thalia chooses to take Zoë's place as the Hunters' lieutenant for her to never turn 16 and not be the child of the prophecy. Percy experiences discomfort before she makes her decision, as he assumed that it would be Annabeth joining the Hunters. Ares and Athena suggest that the gods kill Percy because he will be the next child of the prophecy after two years. Fortunately, many of the gods vote to let the heroes live after Artemis declares that if the heroes are punished, then the gods are no better than the Titans. Poseidon also vouches to let the Ophiotaurus live. He states that it would be kept in Mount Olympus. Yes, we still have Percy’s funny remarks but just like the Harry Potter series this series is growing as well. The characters get older and their quests get more dangerous and grim. The stakes are higher and our characters are forced to realize that not everyone can be saved by a hero. For instance we’re barely a few chapters into the book when Annabeth disappears with the enemy. There’s no trace of her left and for all they know she even might be dead. Not that Percy would consider such an outcome! He has to save Annabeth because he just knows that she’s still alive! ;-) So what to do when you’re stranded on a cliff? Right, you call for the sun gods help to hitch a ride. XDTo be honest, the whole thing about saving mission is pretty cliché. In the first book, Percy saved her mom, in the second book, Percy saved Grover and in this book, Percy saved Annabeth and it's pretty cliché, you know. now I'm wondering what will happen in the fourth book? I'm hoping it won't be like this anymore. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy this book, I did enjoy this book but I just got a little bit bored with this whole saving mission. I just want the three of them together!! Percy, Annabeth and Grover. That's all. Just like the first book. Ares - God of War. Ares puts a curse on Percy which would cause Percy's sword to fail him when he will need it the most at the end of The Lightning Thief. This curse takes effect at the end of The Titan's Curse when Percy battles Atlas on Mt. Tam.

It never fails to impress me how the author can intricately put everything into these books. I never feel bored and I love the view he takes on different mythology stories. After reading this book I'll never look at Hercules the same. One of my biggest enjoyments is seeing different American landmarks mentioned in the story, and seeing their odd connection to the Greek myths. You can tell the books are going to take a bit of a darker turn. It makes sense since they all are getting older and the inevitable prophecy is looming over. The group receives a ride from Artemis's brother Apollo who lets them use the sun chariot, with Thalia at the wheel. The combination results in a gut-wrenching experience for the group because Thalia is scared of heights and the sun chariot can fly. Soon, they arrive at Camp Half-Blood, almost crashing in the canoe lake. Grover Underwood - A large-hearted satyr, whose favorite foods include aluminum cans and cheese enchiladas. He wants to look for Pan, the satyr god of nature and the wild, who fell into a deep sleep due to the humans' pollution of his domain. Chiron - A centaur that is immortal for as long as he is needed to teach heroes, trainer of demigods, assistant director of Camp Half Blood. Chiron is a son of Kronos. Chiron almost dies in a myth. I'm writing this review on my phone so I will add gifs and the quotes from the book later because I don't have the book with me right now.

Retailers:

Travelling to Washington D.C., Percy follows Thorn to the Smithsonian, witnessing Luke, Thorn, and a man called "The General" summoning spartoi to waylay Zoë's group. Percy warns his friends, helping them defeat the Nemean lion, claiming its impenetrable pelt as a reward. Zoë allows Percy to join the group, realising her prophecy implied this. They travel to Cloudcroft, New Mexico, where Grover senses the missing god Pan, who sends the Erymanthian Boar to help the group escape the spartoi. We don't get much of Annabeth in the book as she's a prisoner for a lot if it. We get lots of Thalia (Zeus' daughter), a fair dose of Grover (a Pan-hunting satyr), and a lot of Zoe Nightshade (one of Artemis' hunting posse). This morning, while waiting with Celyn at her hospital appointment I told her I was going to write a review of the book I finished reading to her the night before and asked her if it deserved 5*. She said it did. So 5* it is.
