About this deal

So far with the Xlim series, we’ve yet to see changeable coils, so it was a nice treat to get to try these for the first time.

After a couple days of use with the .6 ohm coil, I went ahead and switched out to the .8 ohm coil with the same RY4 cream liquid that I used with the first coil. I use other pods with .8 ohm coils/pods so had a feeling this one was going to be a better fit for me. I closed down the airflow so just two holes were open and it was a good fit for me. I tried it in all three power levels and could honestly use this coil in any of the three and be happy with it. The change in power levels is noticeable but not drastic. Both coils produced good flavor and a fair amount of vapor for a pod device. I just needed a little more air for the .6 ohm coil. The charging boasts of 30 mins for 80% charge seem to be accurate as I found it took around 35 minutes to fully charge each time I timed it. This was with a 2A mains plug. I would call the Oxva Xlim C a full featured pod device compared to most of the pods that I have been receiving for review and there has been a lot of them lately. I think the 900mah battery capacity is decent but would never turn down a little higher capacity. I like that the battery can be charged in as little as 30 minutes. With the 0.6ohm coil I got around 5 hours of heavy vaping on the lowest power level. This equates to around 4 pod fills.

The OXVA Xlim V2 replacement pods are made to fit the OXVA Xlim, Xlim Pro, Xlim SE and Xlim SQ vape kits. These pods can hold up to 2ml of e-liquid and are ideal for MTL (Mouth To Lung) vaping. As the coils are built into the pods, you don’t have to spend time changing messy coils and can just swap the old pod for a new one. I started out testing the Xlim C by plugging it in and making sure it was fully charged. While that was taking place I went ahead and primed the .6 ohm coil, installed it in the single pod included, and filled the pod so the coil could get fully saturated before using it. The .6 coil I believe is designed to be used in an RDL type of vaping scenario so made sure the airflow control was completely open. I know everyone likes different things but felt like the airflow with this coil hit that awkward spot for me where it is too loose for MTL and a little too tight for RDL. I did try closing the airflow some but it made the vapor warmer than I like even though I tried it in all three power levels. Normally I would like a coil close to this resistance but for the maximum amount of airflow available it wasn’t a good fit for me personally. A little more airflow and it would have been perfect. There are two coil options in this kit; a 0.6-ohm coil and a 0.8-ohm coil. The 0.6-ohm coil fires between 18- 22 watts depending on your setting, while the 0.8-ohm coil fires between 13-17 watts. There is also an additional option available (not included) which is a 1.2-ohm coil that fires between 8-12 watts.Compared to my other Xlims this has the advantage of a wider airflow range (much better for RDL vapers) and obviously less waste as you just discard spent coils. Also I have not spotted any dribbles from the fill port cover which I have had on other Xlims. Are "Puff Counts" Accurate? - An honest guide to disposable vape puff counts, explaining how they're measured and whether they're accurate. This is perfectly happy with my 6mg Nic salt 50/50 e-liquid but is not quite as smooth as the 0.8ohm coil. I found I used this at the lowest power setting (18W) as it really felt warm and harsh on the higher power settings.

Trying this with 70/30 e-liquid (IVG Select Bubblegum) with approx 6mg of nic salt added this was fine. With the 0.8ohm coil I got between 6-8 hours of heavy vaping on the highest power level. This equates to around 5 pod fills. Still, the Xlim and the Xlim SE had one minor fault: they didn’t offer a changeable coil option for vapers who prefer swapping coils instead of pods (even the Caliburn series has a device that uses changeable coils). The first coil I tried was the 0.8Ω (ohm) coil, and this lasted me two whole weeks before the flavour started to wane. This might be the best coil life I’ve ever gotten out of a pod kit. It is also super simple to use, the coil changing and filling is easy peasy so I would recommend this kit to a new vaper any day. For battery size, I got a usable 840 mAh which is excellent. Very fair, and in fact fairer than most similar devices that are usually overrated by 20%. It does have passthrough vaping as well. The LED acts as a battery meter, and it’s the standard three-color setup that most devices go with.
