About this deal

As we mentioned above the RZ50 features an isolated 1.8 GHz quad-core SoC that is capable of performing multiple processing tasks at once. It evolves network functions and supports the 802.11ac (2×2 MIMO) standard for stable multi-room audio streaming either this is made through a wireless and wired connection. As for wired connectivity, this AVR has seven HDMI input ports (one on the front supporting 4K/60Hz, as I mentioned earlier), including HDCP 2.3 and VRR, ALLM, and QFT. The three HDMI outputs (with eARC on the main output) support 8K/60Hz (available only for Zone 1) and 4K/120Hz (for Zone 2 if you connect two HDMIs). It provides decoding of modern HDR10+ and Dolby Vision video formats. But don’t rush to throw away your old equipment! Next make sure the Master Volume is set to a lower level like -50 dB. Press play on the first speaker. You should hear the tone and should see a bar indicating how loud it is. Do this for all your speakers except the subwoofer. Look at the values for each speaker to determine the softest / lowest one. Grab the Master Volume until the softest speaker is at least 20 dB above the ambient noise floor. It's ok to go higher but don't overdo it. I used 26 dB. My ambient noise level was -43 or so dB which means I set my softest speaker to -17 dB or so ( -43 + 26 = -17). AV receivers may not be meant particularly for music, as audiophiles most of the times prefer to go for different equipment, but that doesn’t mean that they are not good at what they do. And the TX-RZ50 is a prime example of that especially if you pair it with a good quality of speakers that can take advantage of its electronics.

The TX-RZ50 has a high-current power supply, which helps to ensure that the amplifier has a steady and consistent flow of power. This helps to reduce distortion and noise, and ensures that the sound is always clear and crisp. Unfortunately, our Installation Service excludes all gas appliances. It is the customer’s responsibility to find a gas safe engineer to connect the appliance. Any work conducted by a third part gas safe engineer will be at the customer’s expense and we will not accept any liability for their work. Another particular handy feature is the inclusion of a low latency mode. We had tried using the Bluetooth transmission feature but when watching a movie there is obvious lip sync issues due to the slow transmission of the SBC protocol. With the RZ50 including a low latency mode means that streaming to some Bluetooth headphones will sync the audio exactly to what is on screen. Please take the time to read the Official Dirac Thread post 1 to understand Dirac. The guidelines presented below is for the Onkyo / Pioneer / Integra AVR in the hopes more users will have a successful calibration.Whatever speaker configuration you decide upon, the TX-RZ50 has a surround format to suit. Compatible formats include IMAX Enhanced, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X plus Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Neural:X for up-mixed audio. This wide range of options means you can adapt your surround sound speaker system from the simplest system with ‘virtual height’ speakers to full-blown 11.2 system that truly brings the cinema to your front room. In addition to impressive visuals, don’t forget the sound processing on the Pioneer VSX-LX505, which is just as sensational. The Pioneer VSX-LX505 uses Pioneer’s Advanced Sound Retriever which allows you to hear sound the way the artist intended it by restoring data that tends to get lost in the digital compression process. Along with that, you’ll enjoy this AVR’s DTS:X with its Neural:X upmixer for realistic, powerful sound with no signal loss. Use Zone 2 pre-/line-out to send MAIN audio or audio from a different source, such as HDMI or SPDIF*15, to a hi-fi

Onkyo has dumped Audyssey to calibrate the RZ50 in favor of the Dirac Live calibration system. It’s easy to see why too. Dirac’s system allows you to truly fine-tune your listening experience, but be prepared. Calibration can easily go from a few minutes to an hour or two depending on how in-depth you want to get into the calibration process. Dirac Live Room Correction adjusts both the frequency response and impulse response in the time domain, and offers customizable target curves. If you’re an audiophile, you will love this feature, but it could also be intimidating for some. Onkyo TX-RZ50 Performance

Obviously the biggest news here is the updated HDMI 2.1 ports it has. If you were hoping for an AV receiver that would not be plagued by the infamous HDMI 2.1 bug then the TX-RZ50 is one of the first. Surely the others will follow but for the time being Onkyo can claim to be one of the first that managed to overcome this problem and it can be a very popular aspect among those serious gamers. OS, Apps and Features CA1, CA2, CA3, CA4, CA5, CA6, CA7, CA8, CA9, CA10, CA11, CA12, CA13, CA14, CA15, CA16, CA17, CA18, CA19, CA20, CA21, CA22, CA23, CA24, CA25, CA26, CA27, CA28. At the beginning of the year Onkyo along with their own Pioneer brand had announced a few new entries in the AV receivers market. For Pioneer we will talk more in an upcoming article but as far as Onkyo is concerned they released three units in the TX-NR series along with a single unit that belongs to their more premium RZ series and it’s the one we have with us here today.

But for Onkyo, COVID is truly only part of the story. In fact, for years now the company has seen its fortunes decline – losing money every year since 2013 (in terms of ordinary profits). The industry had turned, and in 2012 the company owners began a concerted effort to find a buyer for the business.”And although this is a feature some of the other brands also utilize what seems a first in such commercial AV receivers is the addition of aptX and aptX HD codecs for far better streaming quality than the usual SBC we have seen being used.
