About this deal

Okay, but why is this so good? I legit can't put it down, this is even better than the first book. I already knew the characters were interesting, but damn, aren't they interesting? I pretty much have them all mapped out in my head, things like who is heading directly towards my 'I'll just pretend you don't exist' list and 'you have my full interest' list. I guess it's safe to say Hera and Hades are way up their game over here, they are hands down, giving off the best kind of energy. Rachel Smythe put so much depth and uniqueness in all of them that it was hard to single them out. Let's see, maybe Apollo? I even liked Minthe 'the other woman' but Apollo cuts a nice shot to the exception rule. I hope he tones down the douchiness, cause I'd really hate to hate my girl Artemis's brother, she's such a sweetheart. The art style and storyline are put together so well, no wonder it's so addictive. A reviewer for Love in Panels! praised the decision to give Persephone more agency than in the original story, saying that "it's that agency, her claiming of her own body and sexuality, that pulls me like a magnet to these tales." [16] Nicole Mejias of Crunchyroll said that while the story is a "bit mature and dramatic," the suspense and romance between Hades and Persephone is gripping, while the "art is colorful and gorgeous." [29] Awards for Lore Olympus Year Athena is the goddess of wisdom and warfare. She is depicted as a silver woman with short silver hair. She is a member of TGOEM, but she reveals to Artemis she is in a relationship with Hestia. Hades struggles to find support in his personal life, with Zeus trivializing his feelings and Minthe resorting to abusive patterns in their relationship. And while Hades tries to create healthier boundaries where he can-like finally putting a stop to his sporadic, revenge-fueled hookups with Hera-he still feels lonely and adrift.

Lore Olympus is a modern spin on the original tale of Hades kidnapping Persephone to be his wife (doesn't happen like that in this version obviously, it's 2021 people). In this retelling, Persephone is a college student, studying at a university in Olympus. She grew up living a rather sheltered life with an overprotective mother (Demeter), who has only allowed her to come to the city because she's on a scholarship from the Goddesses of Eternal Maidenhood, meaning she has to remain a sacred virgin. Persephone is staying with Artemis, one of the members of the organization. This volume felt so much more scandalous. But it a good way. As always, Smythe delivers with such a good storyline and characters that I love keeps me hooked. I love the Barnes and Noble exclusive cover for this one. It’s really stunning and I’m glad I got my hands on it.This full-color edition of Smythe's original Eisner-nominated webcomic Lore Olympus features a brand-new, exclusive short story, and brings Greek mythology into the modern age in a sharply perceptive and romantic graphic novel. All of Olympus-and the Underworld-are talking about the God of the Dead and the sprightly daughter of Demeter. But despite the rumors of their romance, Hades and Persephone have plenty to navigate on their own. Why is Hestia portrayed like this umfgh she's one of my fav goddesses and basically the least problematic but just ajhsjajjs This edition of Smythe’s original Eisner-winning webcomic Lore Olympus bringsGreek mythologyinto the modern age in a sharply perceptive and romantic graphic novel.
