Once the tents are up, we closely inspect the interior of each one and rate them on how likely campers are to have a comfortable and enjoyable experience that meets their needs. The declared capacity is 6 people, so imagine how luxurious this is when you have no less than 192 ft² (17.8 m²) of the inner area plus 41 ft² (3.8 m²) under the porch. We inspect the interiors of the tents during and after testing to see how each fares against the elements. Some tents manage to stay firm, but others blow over and even have puddles in the sleeping compartments. Here you have a typical example of a tunnel tent, with a huge area for 6 people, with 3 separate rooms. These include a large living area plus two sleeping units. The inner sleeping area is what they call the darkened bedroom, so glare is reduced and you can sleep longer in the morning. We pitch every tent, taking into account how long it takes, how clear the instructions are, how much physical effort is required, and how convenient the process is.The inner tent is the yellow area in the floor plan picture below. The materials Not all tents have indoor communal spaces that can house all the campers if the weather turns, and even those that do aren't always large enough for everyone to be comfortable.

The seams are taped. They do not provide information about the floor material, but note that it is fully sewn-in and sealed.The inner tent has yet another extra floor. Tents with rigid poles made of stainless steel or aluminium are for building a rigid frame that will keep your tent sturdy in the wind. They can be heavier and more cumbersome to pitch, though.

There is a zippered port for an electric cableand you also have a series of Velcro loops that run from the port to the ceiling so that you can pass a cable for electric lighting or ventilator. All rooms are full height standing rooms. The living area is huge, more than 10 square meters, and with all those windows on its three sides. This tent is designed for areas with lots of rain, there is no mesh in its structure, the windows are a solid translucent material, so I would not use it in warm areas. This is for a cooler environment. We consider how easy it is to get into and out of the main entrances and sleeping compartments, how bright and roomy the living spaces are, and if we consider there to be enough room for the number of people intended to sleep in the tent.
