About this deal

If you make any of these faux leather earrings, please share a photo in our Facebook group, or tag me on social media with #makershowandtell. I always like to make ONE earring shape with a hole first, then DUPLICATE that shape to create the second earring.

Note: When you cut the faux leather layer, be sure to select “faux leather” as your material and mirror your image. The foil vinyl layer should be set to “foil vinyl iron on” and also mirrored. Now that you know how to make earring holes in faux leather earrings… what if you want change or hide the current earring hole, or create your own earring hole?If you want your teardrop shape earrings to curve, fold the top of the earring in half (gently!) and use your hole punch to make a hole through BOTH sides of the leather. After uploading your earring SVGs to Cricut Design Space, you have to first UNGROUP them so you can manipulate them individually. Sometimes you may want to “hide” an earring hole in a faux leather earring SVG to keep it from cutting. Why would you want to do that? Here are some reasons: If you do decide to cut out the foil vinyl iron-on layer, you’ll want to weed the vinyl and then iron the designs onto your earrings before you go any further. I did this using my Cricut EasyPress. For faux leather and foil iron-on with the EasyPress mat, the recommended temperature is 255 for 30 seconds. Once you press your iron-on, let it cool before removing the protective liner. It also could be because you prefer using the hole punch to make the earring holes in faux leather earrings.

Or you may want to change the location of the earring hole altogether (if you want the earrings to dangle a different way, for example). A Cricut cutting machine (or another cutting machine of your choice).I used the Cricut Maker, but you can use the Cricut Maker 3, the Explore Air 2 or Explore 3, or the Cricut Joy. No matter the reason, you can easily hide an earring hole to keep it from cutting by using the “Contour” feature in Cricut Design Space. If the idea of endlessly searching the internet for information on how to make faux leather earrings with a Cricut sounds frustrating, I totally get it! I felt that way, too, when I was just starting out. That’s why I created my Cricut Earrings Made Easy Workshop. This instant access workshop has all the information you need to get started making earrings with your Cricut. It also includes step by step video tutorials, a printable workbook, and 12 of my best selling earring cut file templates, so you can get started making earrings right away.

Key concepts taught in the video tutorial include how to mirror a design in Cricut Design Space, how to cut faux leather, and how to iron foil vinyl on faux leather. Of course, you don’t have to make these earrings with the foil vinyl — I just thought they looked really pretty that way. And, you can resize these earrings to suit your taste. Right now they’re definitely on the large size, but I see no problem making them smaller. Get my free SVG cut files and patterns for the Faux Leather Earrings Now it’s time to put a jump ring through the hole(s) of your earring. Use your needle nose pliers to open up a jump ring and place the end of the ring through the hole.
