The Tyranids have invaded the galaxy from beyond the intergalactic void, their hive fleets slithering like tendrils into every region of the galaxy. Driven by the imperatives of the almighty Hive Mind, their swarms sweep over world after world in a living tide of biological killing-machines and seek to devour every last shred of biomass in their path. Personally, if I was committed to using the Balefleet box, I’d go with a Land Raider and more Chaos Terminators. It’s a lot of points but you can really make them the utility unit you’ll need to do stuff. I’d probably still keep the Boarding Action box because I like Abaddon in this list and the extra bodies are good for objective holding. That means I would want to find a way to max out the Chaos Space Marine Legionaries just to have a unit of 10. The List You don’t just get a selection of units in these battleforces, either. Each one comes with a set of detailed upgrade sprues and transfer sheets, so you can make your new Space Marines look like they’ve walked right out of your chosen Chapter’s forge. Flaming braziers, curved chainswords, and bionic enhancements are all here for the enterprising Warhammer hobbyist.

Another set with some decent variety and within that you also get a few models with slightly variable build options, here’s a solid force for you if you are into Gundam Tau. This new character sculpt for the Dark Angels was revealed at the Worlds Championships Preview on November 18, 2023. This is an interesting move by GW, as the boxes are made specifically for the new game format. We’ll have to see pricing on these, but if they price them right, it could be a decent way to start up a new force and get to playing some boarding action games all in one go. Also, it’s interesting to note that Necrons in 2020 and Orks in 2021 were actually probably the newest released factions to grab a box (even though it had been months since their new codex dropped at that point).

So for the lineup of Battleforce boxes in 2022, we expected to see two Imperials, two Xenos, a “Wild Card,” and hopefully some kind of Chaos, perhaps Thousand Sons or Daemons. Turns out there look to be no Xenos boxes at all!A variety of additional gnoblars in a range of styles. You can use these to decorate the bases of your ogors, or, if you like, base them up to build a unit of these screeching horrors.
