About this deal

For further evidence of this misguided notion, see the penultimate paragraph of the Leo Woman/Leo Man section: Hall, Sarah; Rein, Richard K. "Why Did Her Lover Flee? Is Her Daughter Dead? Linda Goodman Seeks Answers in the Stars". People . Retrieved 16 August 2018. Crystal Bush, a businesswoman from Ireland, befriended Goodman at the end of her life and obtained the publicity rights to the astrologer's name at her death. Bush then published the book Linda Goodman's Relationship Signs. Linda Goodman's books also reference what she referred to as the "disappearance" of her eldest daughter, 18-year old Sarah "Sally" Snyder, in the 1970s, and the mystery around her reported death. Linda's husband Sam Goodman had identified the body at the New York morgue, and had the body cremated, but recanted the identification a few days later. Linda never accepted the official police closure report as a suicide or accidental suicide, and spent much money, and continued to search for Sally for the rest of her own life. Finally, she believed that her daughter was dead but would return by reincarnation. [2] [3] Death [ edit ] paradoxically absurd-she talks of not killing anyone, plants thinking((pseudoscience!!) and then justifies the genocide of millions of red indian by white racist british colony in America!!!what a joke???

Then, after all the talk of properly adhering to Mother Nature's blueprints for men and women, Goodman makes such statements as this, from the Libra Man/Libra Woman section: Sadly, this book falls prey to the persistent bugaboo of sexism. Linda Goodman's Sun Signs was a flagrant offender in this regard; the worst of it occurred in the "Taurus Man" and "Pisces Woman" sections. (If you own a copy of the book or know where to obtain one, take a moment to read the respective passages and then wonder how a woman could be so sexist as to write them.) Heteronormativity dogs astrology books consistently, which is not helped by the general assumption in works of the genre that the reader is a heterosexual woman. No book carries the bias quite to the extremes of this one, though. In this book's case, the heteronormativity and gender binarism sometimes combine with the sentimental writing style to produce passages such as this, from the Aries Woman/Aries Man section: This author really had no idea what she was talking about regarding money and karma. The stuff she said is dangerous for people to believe, point blank. A lot of fear mongering. She says you have to give half your money away to stay prosperous. That is a load of shit, and it’s actually arrogant to “give money away.” What people really need to be doing is paying one another for skills and talents and labors of love. If that were the case, everyone alive would be doing their dream job, and fulfilling their life purpose. You just give someone money, and it’ll be gone in no time. And there is no such thing as karma except for those who believe in it. They are punishing themselves through the universal Law of Attraction. Its the majority opinion that its not science. Sun is star. Moon is satellite. But still considered for calculations. How the stars, planets and satellite and there relative motion affect our lives is beyond comprehension. And even if they do how it can be calculated mathematically. The qualities attributed to different planets is based on mythology, arbitrary and imaginary. Like jupiter for education or venus for sex. The signs also named after the shape of a particular constellation which they represent. And then she impose the quality of that particular shape on that sign people. Like Leo or lions have qualities of lions. Libra looks like a scale so she says they r always confused and unable to take decisions. SO to cut a long story short it is all imaginary. This book is the reason by I am very much hooked in astrology nowadays. Linda Goodman carefully and accurately explain each zodiac sign in some forms of entertainment. In fact, I was suprised that most of her descriptions are true to me. It also defines the nature and characteristics of water, air and earth signs. As it was written a lot of years ago, things have changed greatly. It is based on people belief on astrology. Some of the points that I found interesting were like : linda goodman Apart from two great b ooks--namely her poetry b ooks and sun signs and love signs was a huge failure in the mystical world-she was no guru she was a self-deluded freak, heartbroken from the absence of her child,so she created some contorted theories to fool herself and her readers Embark on your cosmic path to self-discovery with this comprehensive guide to the twelve signs of the zodiac. Your sun sign is determined by the day and month of your birth and is the foundation of your horoscope. Taking each of the twelve signs in turn, world famous astrologer Linda Goodman explains the importance of the sun – the most powerful of all stellar bodies. She describes the characteristics of each sign and how these can be used to really get to know the men, women, children, bosses and employees in your life. This newfound knowledge allows us to feel closer to one another and to understand that, as Goodman says, ‘Not all Capricorns are meek, not all Leos are outwardly domineering and not all Virgos are virgins.’ Learn all this and much, much more from the world-famous astrologer who has helped millions divine their way to success, happiness and love by studying the sun signs.

Goodman was mother to four children: Sally and William (Bill) Snyder from her first marriage, and Jill and Michael Goodman from her second marriage. She also had at least one other child, a daughter who died in infancy.

Linda Goodman's Star Signs: The Secret Codes of the Universe A Practical Guide for the New Age (1987)

If you read this book, you will be able to cope with the fussiness and being perfectionist of a Virgo. You will also understand why people born under the sign of Gemini have two or multiple personality that sometimes lead you to confusion. You will be able to adjust with the tranquility and slow pacing personality of Taurean, level up the energy and cheerfulness of Sagittarius, praise the Leon, laugh with the jokes of moody Cancerian, be as ambitious as Capricorn, as sweet as Pisceans and as friendly as Aquarians. We will also realize our desire to find out the mistery of Scoprion, the enthusiasm of people born under the sign of Aries and the beauty and judgement of Libran. a Capricorn child is very serious in his childhood and when his age grows, he becomes more childish. it's a reverse aging process. I read this repeatedly as a kid, because I’ve been interested in astrology and numerology since then. I just now read it again as an adult. I am only giving it 3 stars, which is very generous, because it’s one of the most accurate books I’ve ever seen on numerology. It’s the method I use to this day for my clients. BUT... I was 16 or 17 when I read the book!!!I genuinely believed in word druids, immortality, weight loss and so many theories!!!!I was so enchanted, but it made me the most unrealistic and spoiled my adolescenceI found this book at a thrift store. And have used it consistently for years. I grew up hearing of zodiac signs and i can see traits . The book helped my interest. I started reading their sign and love sign.. To family and friends it helps all understanding there journey. Helps. something in it spoke to me. We are here to teach and we are here to learn.the karmatic wheel is always on plays away. making you going go through the sign again until get it. Goodman made Cripple Creek, Colorado, her home during the latter part of her life. She first lived in a small Victorian house on Carr Street ("the little crooked house on the crooked little street") and later moved to a newer home on the outskirts of the main town. Both homes still boast her spiritually themed stained-glass windows. The house on Carr Street is now a bed and breakfast. She died in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on October 21, 1995, at the age of 70, from complications of diabetes. Linda Goodman was born in Morgantown, West Virginia. Although she never revealed her year of birth, swearing even her father to silence, it emerged posthumously that she was born in 1925. According to data collector Frank C. Clifford, Linda was born in Morgantown on April 9, 1925, at 6:05a.m. Clifford cites Linda's birth certificate as his source. Her father's name was Robert Stratton Kemery; her mother's maiden name was Mazie McBee. By her own account, Goodman was born in her maternal grandparents' house on 115 Kingwood Street. She attended and graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1943 aged 18 years. Linda Goodman's Sun Signs" is to "Astrology For Lovers" as the Datsun Cherry is to the Bugatti Veyron. There is not one single thing that Goodman does even half as well as Greene. The only people who give this book the time of day are the people who are not aware that the Liz Greene book exists. Had Liz Greene's publishers not for some inexplicable reason insisted the word "Lovers" be incorporated into her title (it was originally called "Star Signs For Lovers",) a lot more people would have read it, I feel sure.

The real draw, if you can dignify it with such a designation, of Linda Goodman's output is her hokey writing style. Her first book, Linda Goodman's Sun Signs, frequently read like a corny pop ballad from the 1930s, but it was still just barely sensible enough for a believer to consider it credible. The sentimentality of Linda Goodman's Love Signs is exaggerated enough to be a "New Age Bobby Goldsboro song," as one third party put it. For instance, take this elucidation on the Sun signs of Peter and Wendy from Peter Pan:This book describes a lot regarding various sun signs in a very interesting way even if you do not want to believe it sometimes. It becomes very interesting when a person reads it and matches his or her qualities. I didn't believe in Astrology until I bought this book. I just had to read the Aries (the first sign) chapter in the book and I knew then to my great delight that this book is genuine. I felt I had to come on here and review this book today because nobody paid much attention to my review of Liz Greene's "Astrology For Lovers", which is quite simply the best astrology book ever published in the history of the world. If the whole world was going up in flames and there was only time to save one book for posterity I expect most people would save the dictionary or the complete Shakespeare, but I would definitely be rescuing Liz Greene from the flames. From the earliest days of my fascination with astrology, there was one author whose work invariably left me with mixed feelings: Linda Goodman. Although her work remains popular among the more conventional mystics, most practicing occultists never even mention her. Frankly, some of her advice was rather suspect. To this day, I have yet to read any other astrology books that propose that the real ruler of Taurus is not Venus, but a planet called Pan-Horus. (Equating gods who belong to two different pantheons and have virtually nothing in common in the first place is, if you can believe it, easier to overlook than many of the other quirks of Goodman's writing.) Lastly, there are some very interesting things in here, like what she says about anagrams, but most of the book is personal opinions of hers about everything from ghosts to politics. She rambled a LOT. And told tons of personal stories about people that went nowhere. And placed way too much importance on people’s Sun signs, which is weird for an astrologer to do. She should’ve known better. The Sun sign is the last thing I look at, if I look at it at all, and I do chart readings full time.
