We introduced a new test for washing machines in September 2022. Because this is a model tested before these changes came into effect, the score won't be directly comparable with the scores achieved by models published after. The Serie 6 WAU28R90GB acquitted itself well in these tests. Curiously, stain removal wasn’t on a par with best of last year’s Bosch machines but the differences weren’t night and day. All the stains on our test swatch were significantly faded at 40°C, and upping the temperature to 60°C saw the worst stains fade further still, albeit not (as noted) as much as on previous generations. Spin speed is another feature you should look out for in quality washing machines. However, the note that a machine “runs at 1400rpm” doesn’t mean it will do so all the time. Things might vary in practice, depending on how the machine runs and how much energy it consumes.
