I need to choose a tripod / head to recommend to a nonprofit organization that I’m helping to develop their in-house video production capabilities. I’m going to recommend the Sony FX6, and either a second FX6 as a B-camera for interviews, or (when they balk at the price) an a7siii or a7iv as B-camera. The VCT plate attaches to the camera at two points, front and rear to balance the camera weight, and allow the camera to be balanced. Mtge Manfrotto adapter then mounts to the bottom of the VCT14 to attach it to the video head, and has additional fore and aft adjustment to get the camera balanced. Just to repeat this: the URSA is a fantastic camera but you have to plan at least as much as you payed for it on top to get an equivalently professional support and fluid head for it. I’ve had a similar problem before, but this one seems to be determined. Last time I mounted the URSA Mini 4.6K with BMD Shoulder Mount yesterday evening in that marathon shoot, I think the fore and aft camera alignment is incorrect so the VCT projects too far forward; I see maybe a couple of centimeters of the VCT extend forward beyond the shoulder mount.
