About this deal

It is usually seen on the outer surface of the metal. During corrosion, the upper layer of metal becomes exposed, as well as its inner surface. As a result, the corrosion tends to continue all the way to the metal’s depth. Let’s discuss the types of corrosion below. Now, you can do one of two things here. You can leave the model as it is. You’ll probably want to leave it a good 8-10 hours to ensure it dries completely. Leave the model for around half an hour, and when you return to it you’ll see the area you applied water to will have gone quite yellow and will have left a very dark edge around any raised detail. You can see this on the front of the helmet in the image below.

Corrosion exists in many forms and can be triggered by numerous mechanisms. There are many other, albeit lesser known, types of corrosion not mentioned in this article.

Final Thoughts

This is very important this time around, as we’ll be using a thinner mixture of Dirty Down’s rust, so we’ll need that brown base coat. Step 3 – Shake it Off Up For larger areas, brush over recesses – Use a larger base brush to fill in the recessed areas of your model. With larger areas, don’t worry about getting paint over the raised areas. This paint may be used for more than just these three armies; in fact, it’s a terrific place for beginners to start if they want to try their hand at giving their miniatures a spooky, post-apocalyptic appearance. Typhus Corrosion Colour Schemes & Combinations

So moving forward with this, If I based in leadbelcher and "washed" with typhus to get the gritty-ness onto the armor, could I apply a layer or two to achieve the green armor, with the gritty corroded-ness underneath the color? Or is it really only to get a typical orange surface rust? I get it. Your arm is tired. I’m running out of shake-related songs. But the rust demands sacrifice, so get shakin’. Step 4 – Mixing This method is a little more involved and does require the use of an airbrush, so it’s not a great one for new painters or those without an airbrush (though you can achieve the same effect without using an airbrush – but we’ll get to that in a moment). Step 1 – Priming

Of all kinds of corrosion prevention methods, painting is the most popular method. Initially, the metal job is cleaned correctly, then with the help of a brush or spray, varnish mixed paint or enamel is applied.
