About this deal

We were also asked to pair the remote control with the TV – again odd, given we’d already been using the remote just fine. What makes this TV stand out is the quality of its picture processing and delivery from first the Mini LED zones that create the light, then the quantum dot field that converts the blue light to white, through a new type of VA LCD panel for TCL that allows a wide viewing angle, and finally an antireflection coating that assists performance in a lit room. Making the 65C845K’s price advantage all the more startling is the fact that despite its affordability, it doesn’t just pay lip service to its premium features. Rather, it actually delivers eye-catchingly high-end versions of those features. Design The Google TV smart platform is easy to set up, responsive in operation, and includes all the main streaming services. The Onkyo speaker system is excellent for a modern TV and means you don’t need to automatically upgrade the audio with a soundbar. The design and build quality are also generally good, and the connectivity is excellent with two HDMI 2.1 inputs.

Such systems can often be compromised by mixed lighting, or a sunbeam on the sensor, but this was the first time we’ve left IQ running, since the results seemed never to offend, nor to suddenly pump when detecting a change. More good implementation there. The brightness the 65C845K can deliver with full screen bright imagery is particularly gratifying to see on such an affordable TV, delivering a fantastically full-blooded feel to the HDR experience that goes way beyond anything I’ve seen from any other similarly affordable 65-inch TV and even outshines OLED technology in the sense that most OLED TVs struggle to get above 200 nits of brightness with full screen bright images.Google TV makes for a familiar and well-organized interface, with easy access to all the key video services and catch-up channels. It aims to be smart at filling its home screen with content from your selected services and did so here with a minimum of the YouTube promotion that has seemed prevalent in the earlier days of Android TV. That said, it didn’t include content from all available services, notably omitting TCL’s own channel of live and on-demand content. The C805 (C755 outside of Europe) is another QD-mini LED TV announced during the Global Flagship Product Launch event and will be available in 50, 55, 65, 75, 85, and 98-inch models. This model is slated to feature 500+ mini LED dimming zones and 1300 nits peak brightness.

The TCL C641K does not include a separate One Connect Box. One Connect Box is a feature commonly found in select Samsung QLED televisions, which allows for simplified cable management. With the One Connect Box, you can connect all your external devices, such as gaming consoles and media players, to a separate box instead of directly to the TV. This centralizes the connections, reducing cable clutter and making it easier to manage and organize the cables. While the TCL C641K does not offer a separate One Connect Box, it still provides a range of input ports on the television for connecting external devices. Accessories

What is the TCL C845?

the peaks can be dazzling and there is detail within the highlights up to the clipping points, but contrast and dynamic range are disappointing TCL has brought its largest-ever Mini LED TV to market in 2023. Its Mini LED flagship, the C845 series, is now available in a whopping 98in as well as 55in, 65in, 75in and 85in, and delivers the brightest, most consistent picture TCL has produced to date according to the manufacturer.

We’re waiting to find out the official information regarding other features such as connectivity, so will be sure to update you with that information when it’s available. TCL C805 sizes and pricing The problem is all the more exaggerated by the way images tend to look fine – really good, even – during darker scenes.Xbox Series X and some PC gamers will also be pleased to find a Dolby Vision Game preset, so you don’t have to put up with a sluggish experience when gaming in DV, while a dedicated Game Bar menu system provides both information on your gaming signal and a couple of game-specific features. This includes a Shadow Enhancement feature that elevates the brightness of dark game areas to make it easier to spot lurking enemies, and an onscreen aiming assistant. You also want a set that handles all the available HDR formats, Dolby and dts audio as well as at least two HDMI 2.1 ports, gaming features like VRR, eARC for use with a soundbar and decent Smarts. Second, HDR images that contain a complex mixture of dark and bright content can sometimes cause the mostly strong local dimming engine to struggle, leaving images looking a little patchy and misty as the TV struggles to work out the optimal blend for its dimming zones. It takes about a nanosecond watching the 65C845K – especially with HDR sources – to see that TCL’s boasts about its TV being incredibly bright for its money were much more than idle marketing speak. Its pictures really do jump off the screen with an intensity far beyond anything else we have seen at anything like the same price. In fact, they leave the vast majority of much more expensive mid-range and even a few really premium TVs looking dull by comparison. Including, as TCL would want it to, OLED models, with even the latest MLA and QD-OLED sets falling some way short of the sort of brightness the C845K can achieve, particularly when it comes to full-screen bright imagery. There is also a ‘TCL Channel’ with a dedicated button on the remote, leading through to 80+ live channels and quite the collection of on-demand content, a lot of B-level stuff but some goodies too, partly by including Plex inside the TCL content.
