About this deal

At 4,514 pieces, this is well and truly in biggest LEGO sets ever created territory, and a rarity for a non-Star Wars set, so you know LEGO means business. And here’s a comparison with the original Magisto, which you may remember from sets like 6020 Magic Shop. I do wish he had some printing on him, especially a pouch which has been a staple with Magistos throughout the ages. Joining up the two halves of the castle completes the build. The connection here is a bar-and-clip type, which is enough to keep things snug without making things too difficult to disassemble. The second key strength to 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle’s exterior design, in spite of the one colour, is in the various angles that the entire structure is built across, with changes in direction and grid lining coming several times around the outer wall. There are certainly squared-off sections to the building as needs be, but the all-round construction follows a curious, more rounded foundation that so cleverly changes the aspect and appearance of the castle depending on what angle you look at it from.

There’s just so much going on, and as you build the set, you’ll encounter all sorts of great little details hidden in every nook and cranny – like this gorgeous fountain and harpischord. Here’s a look at her Lion Knights. If you notice, you’ll see that many key knights and soldiers are female. Lion Knights’ Castle is an outstanding LEGO experience where money is not the object at play. It may take many months to save up for 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle, but the reward for doing so is so very special and unique to you that there’s no need to think twice when you come to that moment to spend hundreds on just one LEGO set. The mortgage can wait. — LEGO ICONS 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle pictures — There are just the 22 minifigures included in 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle, and with such a quantity there’s barely a complaint to be made. For a set this large, it takes a character count this high to populate it and, furthermore, the selection made available here offers variety, colour, charm and play to really help tell the story within the set – one that is reminiscent of stories past from the LEGO Castle theme.

Because the build is split into two books, you can build this together with someone else, with each person focusing on one build. Once both halves are complete, you bring them and snap them together to create the Lion Knights’ Castle. EDIT TO ADD! Turns out I’m the one who’s full of it. Thanks to Jamin Hoyle for pointing out in the comments that the toilet actually empties outsidethe castle walls – and there’s a brown “frog” on the ground to prove it.

From the front you can see the main entrance room of the castle, once the drawbridge and portcullis are added however is it not as visible. Bag 20 – Completing the keep’s first level and the drawbridge This is the largest minifigure-scale LEGO Castle set ever, expertly designed to the very high standards we have come to expect in 2022, produced within an almost unlimited budget of quantity, size, variety and more. It’s a LEGO castle that all of that can produce, pulled together with that clean, modern aesthetic of current LEGO design, measured against an engrossing (and time-consuming) build process and faceted with all sorts of fun details. Fittingly for a medieval castle, there is also a privy! Love that there’s even a roll of toilet paper, suggesting that they aren’t really that barbaric. Under the castle, following the river, there are a series of twisting caves where all sorts of skullduggery can occur. (Provided your hands are small enough to fit into the limited open spaces.) A nice touch is these friendly bats – critters you might have trouble finding again once the build is complete. The first set of instructions starts with building the first half of Lion Knight’s Keep. Each half can be clipped together to form a whole castle. The castle is designed in a way such that the castle can be closed to show the dense but detailed exterior or can be opened dollhouse style to display all the interior details. Bag 2 – Castle foundations and kitchen When closed, the completed model measures over 14 in. (38 cm) high, 17 in. (44 cm) wide and 12 in. (33 cm) deep, but it grows significantly when you open it up to reveal the interior. That aside, this is some line-up of Castle-themed characters, fittingly unrivalled – just as the castle is – to anything that has come before in the theme this pays tribute to. And from any angle, 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle is imperious and impressive to take in, serving as both a one-of-a-kind tribute to LEGO castles that have come before, and very much reminding you that nothing like this has actually ever come before.
