About this deal

It just, to me, has one glaring issue: the normal Noble NB4. At less than half the price, with most of the features (albeit no carry case etc), for the vast majority that's already more than enough radio. That's why i also don't think that it's a game changer - the normal NB4 has been out for years now (bought mine on release), sadly didn't change the game. Anyone who i got to buy one agrees that it's a stunning radio (of course the same would go for the Pro), punching way above its paygrade - but sadly, never really took off (massively, anyway). Firstly, there is a wider range of small size RX for FrSky. Although they are generally slightly more expensive, but the full featured options and additional range they provide are worth the extra investment

The NB4 is the newest, fastest and most stylish ground transmitter to date. Not only does it look great with its new sleek design and metal finish, it also features new flexibility and functionality never seen before in the RC world. Built-in 18650 2000mAh battery in the remote control handle, and a lipo battery in the bottom that can be used as a power bank

The screen feels like it has been pulled from an early model mobile phone - 3.5 inches diagonally with 480 x 320 resolution TFT touch screen. It's bright enough in outdoor conditions (early summer here) and responds well to touch. It does the job it needs to well without being overspecced - for examples a 90Hz full HD+ screen would be wasted in this application. In comparing to other transmitters it is clearly a step up from the Flysky FS-GT5 I reviewed here and more on a level with premium race offerings like the 7PXR from Futaba and the M17 from Sanwa. I say this from a feature standpoint, latency and possibly build quality depending on how mine holds up. I know that my experience with the latest Flysky AFDHS3 protocol as used here that it is very good - provides telemetry and a very reliable control link so I'm not expecting any weakness here either. Disclaimer: this is NOT a sponsored post, we did not and will not get paid by Flysky for writing this guide. This article was created purely for the benefit of the FPV community, and with the hope that some people who have the passion but with a small budget can find a more affordable way to fly. You can use the Turnigy Evo to play simulators, and it supports PPM, SBUS and iBUS receivers which is great for mini quad. Flysky RX Options The selection of RX that I have detailed above are the cream of what Flysky currently have to offer for mini quad and micro quads, but there are pro’s and con’s to each.

NB4 Pro - amazing + some bonus bits if a little pricier. Twice the price for a few extra functions, some TX jewellery, carry case and extra setup bits? I’m on the fence still. This is a 2-way RX which is capable of providing telemetry from the sensors on the FC to the display on the TX. The FS-X6B receiver provides failsafe capability over both iBUS and PWM. The version 2 of the A8S has been released, which has fixed this problem, but there is still talk of “full throttle brownouts” where RX channels might behave randomly when throttle hits 100% (I will test this and update this info soon). As you can see, failsafe is sometimes only available over specific protocols, depending in the RX. Failsafe is far more important than telemetry because it minimizes the chance of unexpected behavior in case of losing RX signal. Take the time to ensure that you are using a protocol that supports failsafe! So, which Flysky TX should you buy? tl;dr… Our first choice is the Flysky i6XThe box is REALLY nice. Well made too and aluminium with a carbon fibre effect printed over it. Very sturdy but lightweight and does not wobble around or anything. Hi, I know this is an older article, but for those doing research for a fix, I’ve had problem, mentioned in the article, with the motors going 100% full throttle as soon as I armed, with two different quads, I was really stumped for a couple days on the build. This fix I found on a Github forum, apparently there were quite a few people having it. TheFLYSKY Noble NB4 AFHDS 3 Surface Radio is the fastest and most stylish surface transmitter to date. Not only does it look great with its new sleek design and metal finish, but it also features new flexibility and functionality never seen before in the RC world. Excellent addition for car and boat users.
